Yep, that's true from what I have found from various benches etc with legit installs.
However the fastest Win7 I've tested is that 32bit eXPerience version, as with most of their releases, it flies but of coarse it's a non-legit highly tweaked version.

I debated wether to put this here or in hardware zone, but since it concerns both:
I am currently happily running Windows 7 64-bit. I am using an Audigy 2 ZS card, and it seems there is no driver for 64-bit from Creative for the entire Audigy-family? Never the less, seems to be working fine, except for one thing: I have major problems with using a microphone in Windows 7. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't - without changing any configuration. Anybody else ran into the same problem?

And i have a question too, i changed my notepad font and i want it back to default, but i cant seem to find the default font. Can somebody look at their notepad for the default font setting?

I see it as a good thing, my man! The OS is sublime and, obviously, doesn't need a myriad of hotfixes and patches (I'm looking at you, Windows "Ancient Edition" XP)

Thanks for the link, these type of drivers where the only way i got Audigy 2zs to work right in Vista64, and creative's new driver 2_18_0011 are OK but still some issues, time for a new PC build in January with a non-creative sound card...

well,i was trying the Prince Of Persia saga on W7 64bit Home Premium and guess what?,it was like all shiny light blue,you couldnt see shit but the menus...and when i rebooted my PC BOOM!!!,Windows 7 (thanks god on a 2nd HDD,not the XP one) says "Recover mode,fuck you,format me already and start over again,but for fuck's sake,NO MORE OLD POP!"
FFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!
From all the games i tested so far b4 the FFFFFFFFFUUUUUU these works:
-Max Payne 2
-Crazy Taxi 3 (no 60FPS,fuckin port)
-Splinter Cell and Pandora Tomorrow
-Torrente
-TEAM FORTRESS 2
-LEFT 4 DEAD
-Medal Of Honor Pacific Assault (all settings to high and...game goes slow?)
-GTA3,Vice City
-MDK2
Games that..."worked" or not worked are:
-FAR CRY 1 (Menus and HUD all great,but game shown a light brighty blue coverin the screen (like POP)
-Splinter Cell Chaos Theory (Installed,but cant install the protection stuff (its original)
-FAHRENHEIT (have a trick,but didnt tested it,yet)
-COMMANDOS 2 (Installs,but game wont start)
-XIII (Installation stops at CD2,saying as in "Wanna uninstall?"..WTF??!)
-STARCRAFT (Install wont starT)
That's all for now...i'll add more later whenever i reinstall this ..TOMORROW

not for me,dude..settings on default shows those shits...i'll try again tomorrow the fucked up ones...if it keeps,i'll remember em..i've checked some RTM lists of non/workin games and i tought "wtf?..."
All of the "Non workin" games i listed are original,legal,no DL'ed

Been using windows 7 RC for a few months on my laptop, just got it on my desktop. All the games and software I've thrown at it are running great, no issues so far. Then again, this is a legit copy so...

Moving from xp to 7 was such a huge step. it was a good idea to skip vista though
At least 5 people I know went from xp/vista to 7 and all of them are pretty much surprised HOW GOOD 7 is compared to old xp and shitty vista!

It's always the same. If I say that chocolate ice cream tastes best you'll come and say that it is the same as normal ice cream just with chocolate. Yeah but that stuff doesn't taste without the chocolate! 7 is that, what vista was supposed to be but miserably failed -> fast and easy to use and maintain.
I used vista and it was and is shitty. You won't convince anyone to go back from 7 to vista because it is inferior
