In fact it isn't. Wink

Common in Poland or embarrassing having mummy wake you up?

lol the second one, and it's pretty common here in Italy too. To be really honest, it's also common to live with parents until the age of 28-30 Laughing

Well, in my situation it's just "Bart, it's 7, get up" and that's all.

I remember reading that Italians stay the longest with their parents.

Quote:
Italian government is giving out cash to thousands of Italians to leave the home of the mother’s, so they can start to live on their own. Eight out of ten Italians aged under 30 live at home. Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa, the finance minister, made this announcement and said it was vital for these reluctant Italians to move away from home and become more independent.

According to the statistics quoted in the newspaper, currently eight out of 10 Italians under age 30 live at their momma’s home and the average age for moving out is 36.

That government fell some months later... Laughing

Anyway, the main and real reason of this "curious habit" is (at least for me):
Quote:
Alessandro Rosino, an economist at Milan's Bocconi University, cites other reasons for the young Italians staying at home, he said because of the high cost of living and lack of jobs. The average wage for Italians aged between 25 and 30 is only half of what their peers in England earn, so it is difficult for them to find their own homes. And those who try leaving home come soon after as the expenses becomes unmanageable.

This.

Well, my name is Bartosz, and Bart would be the English equivalent I think. The actual proper short form from Bartosz is Bartek, but most of you guys wouldn't understand it, so... ;P
