I own my house. I renovate (mod) a set of stairs but they don't conform to the safety code (a law). Does that give the law bringers the right to take my home away? No. Microsoft is well within their right to prevent my modded console from going online. They need to protect the online service from hackers and cheats. Destroying my save data, gamertag, and DLC is crossing the line. They're taking games I've paid for away from me. That just can't be legal...
Either way, I am done with 360's. I do hope something starts up here that I can join and get more lawsuits going. I totally endorse fighting back against MS for this... |
in the uk, if I build say an extension on my home and it doesn't have planning permission . The council can tell me to pull it down , no relevance to the subject at hand though , different lands and different laws

Volt changes just add a usb fan =BAN
Add a cooling system that uses the xbox power output =BAN
Other hardware(mouse and keyboard plug , different xbox pad thats compatible with the console) used on the Microsoft =BAN
Playing demos or services not from your region =BAN
Broken Power Brick that outputs diffrent voltage = Ban for volt change (whoooot yeah they ban for this shit also stupid fucks)

Because I don't agree with a bunch of whinging spoilt brats who think ms owe them something I shouldn't be here ?
You accept that they have the ability to remove functionality of certain things yet you complain when it doesn't suit you . Hdd installs where an added bonus in nxe , you lost it just like you lost the ability to share your profile directly with other consoles
your hd still works on the banned console
your gamertag still works fine on banned console

People arent whinging about Xbox live being take away, its the stuff they paid for being rendered unusable.

Whats not to work out , you deserved the ban and they revoked your right to install games and sign gamesaves
DLC should work if it was the console it was bought on , plenty of people I know dlc still work same goes for lots of xbox-scene users . if its not the console the license is signed too ( ie bought with another console , you shared an account for instance , check licence migration for instance ) then it won't work as it needs to have the live connection to validate it

No, the liscence relates to being banned on Xbox live, not the revoking of bought software.
Read the liscence agreements.

People may call me names I dont care I just said my opinion here about this , you buy a xbox and with that you agree with there rules.
You get banned for doing something that isnt allowed then thats to bad but no need to blame MS , afterall it was the people own desision to modded there console and it was you all that desided to break there rules and law says dont pirate.
To the ones that wants to have me banned I ask you ban for what ? , for saying my opinion on a post in a normal way , I dont call names I respect the rules here and just say that people shouldnt whine because they are banned for something they knew that could happen.
I also said it sucks if it happends to you but then buy 2 xboxes , use one for the online gaming and the other for the games you download.
Dont tell me you cant affort that cause when you download 3 games you already saved enough cash to buy one.
For this reason I got 3 xboxes , one for my wife and one for me (wich we use both for online gaming) and one for my son for offline gaming wich is modded , he plays online games on the PC.
Ones more Im just saying my opinion, if you dont agree fine but no need to call me names or tell me im trolling.
Also thanks to the people that do understand what i`m saying , I do know that alot probaly dont agree but those are the ones that are banned so yaah its understandable.

You're being called "names" because you are attempting to extrapolate one part of the EULA, which gives Microsoft (rightfully) the power to limit access to its Live Service, with the ability to hobble hardware functionality. I personally was not aware that XBLA games, HDD installing, etc. was connected to the Live Service. I'm sure you know it is not.
The lawsuit may not go anywhere, but its hardly a case that has no merits. Modifying ones console to play burned games is not against the law. Distributing digitally copyrighted material is. The two are NOT the same.

Regardless or not that they disabled the modded console you knew up front what could happen yet people still deside to mod it anyway , I mean why whine if they knew what could happen, basicly its part of the risk people take.
About your downloads they still out there , all you have to do is get a unmodded console and they still work. |
What you don't seem to get is, the only risk there is supposed to be, is getting banned from using the LIVE service. They have no right legally to disable any other features of our boxes. Noone is whining because they can't use LIVE anymore, we're whining because MS is breaking the law. |

MS is a huge and rich company, thousands of people are waiting for an opportunity to sue it's ass because of money. I am sure MS double checks all their actions are legal before they do something. That's why i don't believe their recent actions are illegal. But you seem to be so sure MS is guilty, just go and take your money then. You can't lose
