I just got back from a drive/trip a few days ago..nothing special.. just decided to get in the car and drive Very Happy (Mainly to check out lakes/beaches etc due to this heat)

I cant get the photos off my digi cam.. dunno wtf is going on.. i think the card must be currupt or something Sad .. if i get them off ill post them.. but other than that i will just google photos as i go.

bloody hot here.. was 30 here (Wellington, New Zealand) today.. really muggy.. all sun.. nice for swimming Smile

First i left my home city wellington

Then went to mt ruhapehu... but no snow cause its so hot!.. decided could not be arsed doing rock climbing.

Then went up north a little bit to lake tarawera.. meet some random people and ended up going out on a boat with them for a swim/bbq

Then to rotorua and went to some hot pools

Then went east to Anaura Bay... soooo nice.. great as .. had the whole place to myself.. fell asleep on the beach for a few hours Very Happy

Then went north past auckland to the bay of islands (Heaps and heaps of islands up there.. hot as)

Stayed in a little town called Russell in the bay of islands

On the way back down the island i went to The Coromandel Peninsula ..

Drove all the way back to wellington

Then took the ferry over to the south island (The ferry goes to a little town called picton)

Had a kayak around the bays.. some nice bays...
Tonga Bay

Totaranui Beach

Camped at Totaranui camp site (U can see it in this photo)

Went south a little bit to kaikoura

was gonna swim with the dolphins/whales.. but was running outta money.. so didnt do it (Even thou it does not cost to much)

Then drove to lake pukaki (everytime i go there i cant belive the colour of the water.. its like crazy!)

After googling i found out why the colour is like that
"Lake Pukaki's unusual light blue colour is caused by finely ground rock from glaciers that are suspended in the water and as a result the lake reflects more sunlight. "

Then i drive to wanaka .. its my fav town in the winter (Althou its summer here now) .. basically its a ski town... althou in the summer its really nice aswell .. i had a BLAST there last year during winter

Then just a shot drive to queenstown.. queenstown is mainly a winter town aswell.. home of extreme sports Very Happy but in the summer its cool aswell

Then i ran outta money so drove home Very Happy

Overall.. good cheap trip.. did it on a budget.. just drove round in my car.. meeting random people everywhere i meet.. good times Very Happy

90% of my money was spent on petrol lol Very Happy

my problem too. The trip to New Zealand itself is quite expensive...too bad because I really would love to go.

Very nice environment. Must have been a very nice experience. You wouldn't imagine how cold, ugly, desolated etc It's over here in Sweden. But It's winter though. Summer is much better. Personally I would like to visit New Zealand or Australia some day, maybe even move there Smile.

How's the job situation over there? Do they need systems engineers? Pics like that make me want to go and live there instead of here in rainy England Smile
