Ok, so I wanted to play GTA Episodes and MW2 on my 360.
It is flashed with 1.51 and a Liteon drive.
I do NOT care about banning. I just want to play these games.
I already patched them with the PPFoMatic. When I want to start them, it wants to install an update, but that fails because of a disc read error.
When I try to run the unpatched game, I only get the "Play DVD" option, because 1.51 won't let it play probably.
I can't connect my Xbox to Xblox live to get the update. And I also tried updating via USB stick (like said in the sticky thread), but that doesn't work either, nothing happens when I try it.
So how can I do this update and play these games?

same shit happening here, I patched the iso file of fairy tale fights to wave 3 ( I have FW 1.51 Liteon) the game asks me to update, I press to update it is updating and restarting the xbox then it asks me to update again and again and again.

Im about to patch and burn these games aswell.
I also got a Liteon @ 1.51, this thread made me unsure.

after patching the dragon origins with AGBX I still get disc is unreadable. I dont get it what did I do wrong I followed step by step.

I think the update is corrputed by the patching, so you would have to boot up an unpatched game to run it. But that doesn't work, because the FW won't even boot a Wave 4 disc because of stealth matters...
Best thing that could happen is a Wave 3 game with that update.

I get the feeling its my burner is trying to say kaput to me. I just burned Dirt2 and I got disk unreadable, although on a second try I was able to get in to the game.

I dont feel like waiting anymore, i wanna play MW.
Does it matter how the patching is done?
I got 2 options here,
ppf from the sticky ( is wave 3 -> "2?) is this reliable for wave 4,
doubts after reading these update failures?
Or should i go for this one,
Wave 4 to 3 using abgx (video.iso & pfi.bin files)
As long as it works..

I patched MW2 with the file from the sticky and it works flawless.

go with ABGX its very simple and straight foreword.

.Check/Create .dvd
..Check Stealth
...Verify if stealth passes
....Check/fix Video Padding
.....Use Colors
......Check for any dvd style game data corruption
.......Check for updates
........Check game partition CRC
@ Manually patch or extract:
.Patch even if stealth passes
..Patch even if these files are invalid
...Patch video (select video.iso)
....Patch PFI (select pfi.bin)
@ Autofix:
.Level 3 ...
..Adjust angle 359 for iXtreme < v1.4
...Fix C/R Table if data is invalid
.... Adjust Angles that deviate more than "3" degrees
@ Misc:
.Your consoles region code, (select your region)
..Splitvid - Add it if it doenst exist or isnt valid
... Extract Images when using HTML output
Now open the ISO and Launch! 
BTW it dint ask me to update when starting MW2, started right away

Thanks for the info!
About the update: Maybe you have already played another recent game, like the GTA Episodes or so which installed the update.
