Here we have "Halloween" in mid February, and I barricade myself in and close the blinds

My mom gave the kids some candies. I wouldn't send my kids to knock on strangers doors and ask for candy.
Though the shady character from the candy-van will appreciate this... he won't need to drug these damn rascals, get them in his van and from there in his basement, because they show up themselves

think it's the same in most of europe, but in the more western-oriented part of europe all saints is slowly but surely being supplanted by halloween.

True, here tomorrow (1.11) people go to the graves of their loved ones. This is the "main" cemetery in my town (this was last yr or so...):

Too right! For some reason we are adopting more crap from America than ever before. I dunno about some of you lot but we had never even heard of this bollox when I was a nipper.
I myself went to the pub, got drunk and watched a pagan procession thingy, after all that is where all hallows stemmed from. Bugger all to do with all this witches/pumpkins crap.

I am actually a bit puzzled about that. After all Samhain was old Celtic tradition, and it originated from Europe (tracing back to old Roman paganism and such), and it's totally forgotten here.
Wow, you really see the devastating effect Roman Catholic Church had on Europe... We have totally forgotten our ancestry...
