Available today, Rebel EFI allows machines with Intel Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, i7 or Xeon Nehalem CPUs to install any modern operating system, including Mac's newest release of OS X. Miami, FL (PRWEB) October 22, 2009 -- Psystar Corporation will begin selling the software it uses to run OS X Snow Leopard on generic Intel hardware. Available for download directly from Psystar.com, the Rebel EFI suite allows users to easily install any OS on their computer.
Available today, Rebel EFI allows machines with Intel Core 2 Duo, Core 2 Quad, i7 or Xeon Nehalem CPUs to install any modern operating system, including Mac's newest release of OS X. Users would simply download the new software from Psystar.com, burn it onto a CD and follow the onscreen instructions to easily install the OS.
A demo version of the software will also be available for download free of charge so users can test-drive the software before purchasing. The demo version would still allow users to install Mac OS X onto their computers, but with limited hardware functionality as compared with the full version.
Also available today from Microsoft is their new Windows 7 operating system. We are proud to announce that Windows 7 is supported on all Psystar computers and by the Rebel EFI. Through the use of the Darwin Universal Boot Loader, available in the full version of the Rebel EFI, computers are capable of installing and running multiple operating systems, including the newly released Windows 7 as well as XP, Vista, various Linux flavors and OS X Snow Leopard.
The Rebel EFI software supports a wide range of hardware profiles. As the software evolves, it will automatically update to take advantage of additional drivers and increased functionality.
In conjunction with this software release, Psystar will begin the Psystar Labs approval program. Users who are having difficulties getting a specific device to work correctly on their machines would send in their component to have it certified. The most common hardware set-ups are compatible, and through PsyLabs we will continue to work toward the Rebel EFI supporting an ever-broader range of hardware profiles. "
"Psystar has decided to take Open Computing to its next level. Psystar's next step in helping to provide open computing for all will be to begin distributing our Rebel EFI software that will allow users to operating systems of their choosing, including OS X, on their computers.
The software is available for download on the here. After downloading, users simply insert a retail copy of the Snow Leopard DVD, follow the installation procedures and then install the application. The application automatically detects connected devices and downloads the appropriate drivers. "

I didn't want to make this comment on Neowin, but this is really unnecessary and WTF, 90$ for this? It is a joke for people who don't have time to do a little research. EFI emulators have been available for a very long time, and are all free, and very easy to apply to an OSX installation media (let alone the homemade DVDs that you can download from the net). So this is for folks that need getting fed straight in the mouth for a hefty price, instead of spending 15 minutes on the internet reading OsX86 tutorials.

I was curious what kind of "support" they offer. The only reason I haven't tried to hackintosh my laptop is because the wireless card isn't 100% working (and what good is having a laptop without wireless). So i take it to mean their "support/drivers" aren't anything that can't be found on the internet?
