So, I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, and got 6 gb memory installed. However, in the system information, it says that only 4gb is usable. Anyone know why?
Thanks for any help.

Does your bios report 4 gig or 6 gig? Might be that one of the chips aren't being recognized. That would be the first place i'd start.

bios only reports 4 gig :/
Any way of finding out which stick it is that's not working without having to move them around loads of times?

What does CPU-Z says?
"Quantum mechanics is actually, contrary to it's reputation, unbeliveably simple, once you take the physics out."

I might be wrong, but shouldn't you have 4 sticks to have 2x dual channel? I believe you need even pair of ram sticks to have dual channel enabled. Try setting in bios single channel mode...

I'm gathering you've reseated the memory. So as of now, what slots have you inserted the DDR3 memory into? Still in 1,3 and 5? CPU-z is reporting memory is in dual mode and not triple mode.
For Tri-Channel, with 3 memory modules, the memory must be in DDR3 slots 1,3 and 5.
With 4, it's slots 1,2,3 and 5.
Are you using the latest F9E BIOS revision? When machine boots, what does it say about your RAM? Does it mention "Intel Flex memory mode"?

I haven't updated my BIOS, guess I should try that. Will report back once done.
