As you might know, about a month ago now I upgraded my system.
I bought a new motherboard (Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5), new memory (6GB Corsair 1600 MhZ) and a new CPU (Intel i7 920). I kept my 550w Corsair PSU, Chassis and my three HDD. At the same time I upgraded from Vista 32 bit to Windows 7 64 bit. All the cables I'm using are brand new.
So, there's the background.
Ever since the upgrade, I've been having trouble with my two other hard disk drives other than the one I installed Windows on. On the one I installed Windows, I kept one partition, which is still running as it should. On the other two, I get from time to time when I try to open a folder an error message saying that the folder cannot be opened. It happens to different folders on both harddrives. When I run chkdsk, it fixes the problem (which I just did, and is why I can't give you the exact error message), but it's only temporarily. I'm also having trouble unpacking some downloaded files (CRC failed), files that worked to unpack before the upgrade.
If anyone could shed some light on my problems, that would be very much appreciated

if you get crc errors and write errors then my first suspicion would always be the RAM. After that i d check for overheating / psu problems
to check the first, grab the iso of ultimate boot cd: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
you ll find memtest and hdd test tools on it (and some others) to check your system. If the ram and the hdds are fine when checking with those tools, report back here =)

i would guess it's either a memory issue or a cable issue
run the memory test first and if it passes try change the data and power cables around
don't put too much stress on one branch from your PSU.. it should be spread evenly across the branches
