|

Well , fuck. My G7 is now having the double click and freezing issues and my MX 518 laser started malfunctinnuing last week. Before that my MX 310 died the same way as my MX 518 and and so did my LX 6. All pretty much died in the first 2 years of use.
Now i like Logitech as a whole , i really do but i'm really starting to think that their mouses have reliability problems. I;m thinking about getting the G9 since i tried it at a store and it felt awesome but fuck....i'm scared that it will start having problems down the road and for 100 bucks....
So right now for the first time of my life i'm thinking about getting a Razer. Never tried a Razer mouse in my life so i don'y know what to expect but i've read good things. Now my big question is : Are Razer mouses reliable in general ? How would it compare vs Logitech ? Any recomendation about the Deathadder , Lachesis ect ?

I had a G7 for two years, I now have a G9 for a year. before I had other Logitech mice. Never had a single problem lol. Bad luck perhaps?
But I suggest you test before you buy a Razer mouse. I tried after seeing some people like them, and I didn't like how they feel at all. Logitech mice are much more comfortable for right hand use.

I've been right through their catalogue of mice, keyboards and steering wheel/pedal setups from the very beginning, working my way up to the G7 before it finally gave up the ghost with the same double-click issue. I've had problems with charging docks and mechanical parts over the years, but with the double-click issue I wouldn't be surprised if it was just bad luck (they aren't invincible).
If I were buying a mouse it'd be Logitech. I'm using a cheap wired version of their MX range right now as a replacement, and it's doing the job, but damn I miss the wireless G7
Stick with what you know I say.

I've been using my MX518 for over two years now, never given me so much as a nanosecond of trouble. Wired mice FTW!

I bought the G9 some time ago (like a year or so) and I fell in love with it. Six months after I bought it I went out and bought another, just in case it got so impopular that I couldn't buy it again.
I should have done the same with the pair of adidas sneakers I bought in the states, so awesome, but I can't get them anywhere now. T_T

Razer Deathadder here for about a year no issues.
Honestly, it's razer or logitech, fuck everything else.
They both have amazing support here in the states at least. I had a diamond back die on me twice, first time razer had me ship it back, a year after it's warranty was out, and replaced it. 2nd time the mouse died they just sent me a new one.

You gotta try a mouse before you buy it, you really do.
Personally, I dislike Razer mice. Apart from their shape, the clicking doesn't .. click for me
Steelseries' new Xai is very similar to the Deathadder, much better than the piece of shit Ikari. It tracks incredibly well, but because its shape is so similar to the Deathadder, I don't find it comfortable. I've heard people say Roccat's mice aren't bad either, but I haven't used one of them yet.
To be honest, you just gotta borrow one so you can work with it for a few hours. Personally, I'll probably stick with my Logitechs, even though I could grab myself a Xai for free. I've gone from Dual Optical > MX510 > MX518 > G5 - see the pattern? Shapes on all are pretty identical, and it's still the only shape that fits my hand perfectly. Considering the amount of time I spend on my PC, that's quite important
