Is this shit any good ? Anyone here tried it ? I saw some guy mentioning it in the OFP 2 thread so i tried to search fpr a thread about it but found nothing.
My monitor is 3DV ready and may get it one day if the opinions are favorable and i have cash to burn.

I checked out a few reviews and impressions on this over time and it seems they all share the same conclusions: it works really really well. Too bad about the price
I used to have ELSA 3D glasses, it was pretty fun. I remember falling down in Midtown Madness used to tingle my acrophobia quite well. The ELSA glasses worked on all monitors, however, so they were much more practical. These, in addition to the high price, require 120Hz monitor which are stupidly expensive. :\
i also had shutter glasses by elsa. It s fun to play around with, but the excitement wears off pretty fast. And shutter glasses give you headaches pretty fast, because you have to have double the refresh-rate than usual. So, lets say your CRT monitor does 120hz, then each of your eyes will get to see only 60hz, which is definitely going to strain your eyes more. And i m not even shure if shutter glasses work with TFTs. Theoretically they should, but if it is practical with the longer on and off phases of the TFTs pixels, dunno
When I bought a new GPU I got these cheaper version of the glasses (in paper and blue/red) which you only need Vista or Windows 7 and software installed. Haven't tested yet, because I still need to upgrade OS first.
The only problem I've seen so far (excluding the eye/head ache) is the distortion of colors when using those red/cyan glasses.
From what I've read the cinemas use other technology of polarized glasses with special screens to avoid that problem.
I tried these.. but after a while my head started to hurt and my eyes felt weird. It is not really recommended for long hours. Btw, this happened after 1/2 hour of gamplay .
I had a set bundled with my new gfx card and the most recent Batman game. Unfortunately I have no interest in the Batman game so I haven't bothered to triy them, but if they if they work in OFP2 I'll give them a shot.

I really wonder if 3D will make it in games/on the PC. Because 3D movies on the other hand, is like circus coming to town once every ~20 years, then disappearing again. In some article you can read that 3D might be coming to the home cinemas, TVs, 3D blurays, whatnot. Which means, you have to purchase new hardware. Just another ploy to get you to buy another generation of hardware.
And who would really sacrifice their 1337 monitor for a 120hz one, of which there are what, 2 variants of right now? With less features. I read the Samsung one doesn't even have an adjustable pivot.
The polarized 3D glasses just doesn't seem worth the dough.
