So, Tuesday morning I'm going on vacation in Tunisia, more specifically Djerba. Never been before, so it'll be nice to see north africa for the first time.

Is there any chance anyone here ever been to Tunisia? Any tips, warnings or anything? Razz

Use lonely planet or something there are tons of databases out there for this stuff.

And besides the practical, have a great time! D: I've been to Africa before but that was the opposite end so can't tell you anything D:

you're coming in the winter time, so the weather should be quite good, as in not too damn hot
Tunisia is a great place for tourism, awesome beaches, and don't believe that "omfg muslim extremist will eat your head" there's zero terrorism in tunisia, (some previous bombings like over 900 years ago but hell those were in NY and london too) hell even the veil is forbidden ffs and it's a muslim country

Enjoy your trip dude I'm pretty sure you're gonna love it

but you better learn some french to get by with the locals as it's the second language there and pretty much everyone speaks it fluently

Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt are pretty safe for tourism, hell it's one of their best income sources I would never recommend Algeria and Libya tho Laughing

ixiga you're pretty close to tunisia so a plane ticket shouldn't be that expensive

I got a user from Tunisia on a forum I'm administrator on.
The dude is the weirdest "human" I've ever seen..

He makes everyone in NFOHump look like very normal people.

I hate you.

The funny thing was, i never saw a single police officer the entire time i was there, UNTIL the bus ride to the airport when we were going home:P

And yes, the only proiblem i really had was the damn salesmen, what lengths they go to make me look at their crap (not all is crap ofcourse, but alot of it!).

They don't have to start pulling my arm if i don't want to talk/listen to them, jesus.
