I also got the beta, and even though i didnt play for long i enjoyed it. It might be because its my first online console game ever, and i still think PCs are superior in online department ( ), for what it was, it was pretty fun. The map I played was just the right size for 5 vs 5, and the amount of climbable objects was decent for the size of the map. I found several balconies, and 2 buildings that could be climbed up from several points. Thought i really had trouble climbing anywhere since i was being shot from every side.
Though I thought guns were extremely weak, takes way too much to kill someone (unless they are shooting me, then its too quick).
Like every other game now, there is a mandatory level up system with perks. The ones i picked were more ammo in the clip and something else i cant remember now.
Overall a decent multiplayer game, but again it might be because i havent played any other console games online.
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

Going through Uncharted Drake's Fortune right now and it's one of the best games I have played in a long time. Really looking forward to Uncharted 2!!! Some the sequences I have seen are amazing. Buildings crumbling/falling while you are in them. I wouldn't doubt if this gets GOTY honors!

I started playing uncharted again the other night. I had stopped at around half way through before so I decided to carry on and finished the game the other day and it is a very good game. Better than I gave it credit for previously.
Funnily enough, the morning after I finished it which was last Saturday, my 11 month old son ejected it from my PS3 and sratched the disc up on my wooden floor pretty badly. I called Sony on Saturday afternoon to see if I could pay for a disc replacement on the off chance not thinking that they would actually do it and they sent me a brand new copy of the game out which I received on Monday. A day an a half later. How's that for customer service? I couldn't believe my luck. I didn't even have to send them a receipt or anything.

Yeah I don't know that I would have paid full price for the game again but if they had some sort of disc replacement scheme whereby you send the old disc in with your receipt and pay..oh i don't kow..10 Euro's or so then I would have done so happily but I didn't have to do any of that. They just sent out a brand new boxed and sealed copy to me straight away. I'm very happy with that.
Having said that, I've had similar treatment from MS who have sent me out a replacement wireless controller without sending the old one in on 2 occasions no questions asked even though I've been outside of the warranty period.

Taken from neoGAF;
Quote: | There's so much going on in this demo that's it's really hard to pick where to begin describing it. I talked to the developers the other day, and they said the purpose of this freebie is to give you as much of the multiplayer game as they can in a reasonably sized file. So, you give Naughty Dog 1.5 GB, and they're giving you four maps, four competitive modes, two co-op modes, the much-hyped cinema mode, the ability to create custom games, access to new skins, about 80 percent of the boosters you'll find in the final game, and so much more.
In terms of maps, you're getting the same Plaza and Village settings you played on or at least saw during the beta along with the Ice Cave and Temple. Both of these locales are described as smaller venues that are going to be a blast for close-quarters combat. The Ice Cave, of course, is going to feature that snow you're always seeing in the Uncharted trailers while the Temple will pack water sections and plenty of opportunities to flank opponents.
Similarly, Deathmatch and Plunder are back this time around -- both packing variations such as different difficulties for Plunder and weapon sets such as shotguns/snipers and pistols/grenades for DM -- but joined with Elimination and Chain Reaction. A round-based game, Elimination has two teams squaring off with the objective of killing everyone on the other team. Wipe out the other guys three out of five times, and you're the big winner. Chain Reaction has you capturing flags, but you have to do them in a specific order - one team works out from their base needing to capture 1 through 5 while the other team starts out from their home and needs to snag 5 through 1.
Of course, all of this multiplayer mayhem plays into the game's cinema mode where you can save matches, replay them, move the camera around, and do nifty green screen stuff. All of the tools that will be in the final cinema portion of the game are going to be here for you to play around with.
A final feather in the demo's cap is that it's going to have the fully fleshed-out money/store system so that you can take the cash you're earning in multiplayer and buy new skins, boosters, co-op weapon upgrades and taunts.
Sadly, none of the stuff you unlock and none of the cinemas you create will carry over to the retail release of Uncharted 2. Similarly, your multiplayer rank will be wiped when the final game hits stores. However, Uncharted 2 packs a built in Twitter link and it's going to be active in this demo. If you enter in your Twitter username and password, the game will automatically Tweet your special accomplishments. |
Those who pre-ordered will get the demo on the September 15th, those who didn't will get it September 29th. The demo will apparently be phased out once it has been officially released (13th Oct), which seems like the best idea based on how much they seem to be giving away... but none of your stats and so on will be transferable to the main game.

I haven't, I'll just be buying it locally. Small town, so I can just go into the shops and get it day one. Not sure about the pre-order bonus btw, whether that applies just to Americans or not, so check it out if that's something you're interested in.

Is that definitive? It could be that the European codes just haven't been organised yet (they tend to be slower at most everything). Either way at least you are getting the game cheaper than anywhere else.

Uncharted 2 was reviewed by some European magazine and they gave it 21/20;
Quote: | The latest edition of the french PSM3 magazine has published the review of the highly anticipated PS3 exclusive Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. Below will find a scan of the rating the magazine has attributed to the title.
21/20: Monstruous.
The conclusion of the test reads [english translation]:
"Long, visually stunning, deep and explosive, Uncharted 2 combines all the qualities you can find in a videogame, and more! A new milestone has been reached in the videogame history." |
For the record I don't buy into any of that, I'm only posting it because the wonders of neoGAF threw up this in response;
