Nor would I. And it's not about proving you're brave enough to do it either (which in itself is pretty childish), but hell I for one respect the power a beast like that has too much to go and tempt it.

A bucket of water splashed on Lion's face would have been better for everybody. It's well known that Lions (but also most of felids) are scared as hell by water, so it was worth trying.

I think he was referring to the fact they were using a hose to poke the lion, when turning it on would have been far more effective.
Did anyone else notice the final shot fired goes through the lions cheek? You can see the hole and blood just before it turns away.

It looks like he regains consciousness towards the end of the video. Though their attempts at CPR look amateur to say the least.
