I don't have DIE release and it's working fine here.
FEAR 2 + update 1.4 + skidrow release
You just have to install Reborn in the correct FEAR 2 folder or else you will have bink32 error.

There's only two versions of pirated FEAR 2 out on the PC -- some obscure Russian release and the one from DiE, so if you say you've got something OTHER than that, I'd sure like to see it.
The point is; Nui said he hasn't gotten anything before this FEAR 2 Reborn. And it's a goddamn FACT that the Reborn download alone will NOT work.

A renamed file from a DIE source isn't proof that it's different.

It's just a custom installer mate, there's no difference between installed files. As I said, twice now, the original point still stands; Nui said he didn't have any other release before Reborn - and that won't work. Reborn is an addon that requires the original FEAR 2 to work (be it DiE, some Russian release, your own rip from Steam files, or whatever)

Yeah, I know how you feel.. heh. I was hoping the mini-expansion would be standalone as I hadn't gotten hold of the PC version of FEAR 2 yet. That was an ouchy night - 16GB DL... >_>

I've mainly seen those files as support, can't use them to pirate or crack the actual game and it's main purpose is to keep the actual game verified and up to date so I see them as fine, nothing has been said about them though but I'll remove them if needed.
(I can understand game content especially cracked EXE and DLC files being a problem but this little index file or what it is shouldn't be a issue.)
