I have a Acer TravelMate 2313LCi but the screen is completely fucked. So i hook up the laptop via the VGA output on a normal monitor and my HDTV. When i start the laptop i see the windows loading screen on the monitor/TV but as soon as it gets to the desktop, it goes back to the laptop screen where i can't see shit.

Am i doing something wrong or is there something to do to get everything on a monitor/TV?

it's obviously set to only display on the lappy monitor or maybe configured for some resolution your monitor/tv won't display and the only option to change that would be in windows itself, so well...you're fucked Cool

except for one thing: most, if not all notebooks have hotkeys to switch the display output around. try pressing the Fn (or similar if there are any) key + F1-12 or number keys, it's probably somewhere around there.

Closing the laptop might also disable the screen and make Windows use the other one.

Or you can type winkey+p, and select the mode you want...

1. Uninstall all video drivers and try installing the newest one from your manufacturer's site.

Or

2. This
Quote:
The solution is to boot into safe mode, go to control panel, system, hardware and open device manager.
Remove all the display adapters.
Exit out by clicking OK as often as necessary then reboot.
Supposedly Windows will reinstall the display adapters and solve the problem.
I am going to try it tonight...
Good luck!
