 |
anyone have good recommendations for I7 for mobo and memory? mobo starts at +200$...which is quite expensive but I should get at least 200 from selling old mobo+cpu+ram
considering I will be also buying a new case cooler master HAF 932(iirc) and this http://www.petrastechshop.com/pecoel.html

Yes get Gigabyte, best value for the money.
Asus have been trouble lately, personally I've had 3 Asus boards fail me within the last year, all of which were less than a year old.
The one Gigabyte I have however runs 24/7 without fail.

ASUS Rampage II Extreme
It's probably among the most expensive i7 mobo's but you will certainly not be disappointed, specially if you plan to overclock!

I was actually looking at this motherboard because of 10 sata ports it has, many of them offer 6 which is quite a dealbreaker for me...man can never have enough hard drives
GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD5 - 280$
Core I7 920 - 280$
and still not sure about memory, never have owned patriot, my previous build had OCZ and my current built has G.Skill
Cooler Master HAF 932 - $150
as for the heatsink goes, I received $200 gift card for petra tech shop, which sells mainly water cooling parts, I will add $100 to buy everything, never had it and always wanted to try it out
Everything will cost around $900, haha i will be so broke after this
seriously prices for socket 1366 motherboards are fucking retarded

Ever thought of a diferent approach? I had the same problem but then realise that I was never going to use all the drives at the same time so I bought an internal hotplug sata case that let me exchange drives on the fly.
