Do you have to quit booze completely or can you keep drinking an occasional beer or two sometimes?

Omg, he really butchered you Must have been some rookie... I hate when they send you a rookie to take out your blood, you're just a doll for them to practice on...

What led up to the test?
You would think that they would have come up with a boozeless buzz generator already. Maybe when they figure out how to connect to the brain and pump in some psychotropic signals directly.

That's why they perform a follow up test. If his results still indicate liver damage then he's going to have to change his lifestyle.
Personally I've never seen the allure in drinking so regularly, it just makes me feel less functional.

How can you be happy if you're getting pissed all the time? There is always an underlying reason for such behaviour.
I would have though happiness and health go together, so your happiness won't last very long if it depends on regularly getting drunk.

my mom once had a trembling intern taking some blood. Half her arm was bruised for 2 weeks... That is what you get when you go a university hospital: 'We train future surgeons here madam, they have to learn it as well...'

Me and my mom have the same problem, our veins are not too visible. So it comes down to the experience of the lab nurse, if he/she has experience, they find the veins fast, but damn, sometimes it taks 10 minutes of plucking in my hand just to start the blood flow...

here these types of clinics are privately run (they just bill the govt for costs directly).
oh, I don't get "pissed all the time" ... I do drink pretty regularly but maybe a couple times a month I actually get drunk.

Yeah I wasn't really referring you with that, just making a general comment that kind of lifestyle.

@nouse
Looks like the guy went through the other side of the vein so when he is taking blood it is leaking out the other side of the vein during the procedure. It could of been worse, hematoma, or he could of hit a nerve.
@AM
I can't answer for anybody else and without going into detail, I can say sometimes it makes things more bearable when in an unbearable situation in which you have almost no power to change. Sometimes the frustration of trying again and again really starts to get at you. For some alcohol, and this totally isn't right, can get you through the day. A few drinks and things don't seem that bad.

I know when AST or ALT is at 200 your liver is 70%. I think it is the GGT which is the important one. Slighty elevated would mean to me under 100 and that is outta the one where is it 1-40 scale.
