Hey guys, i'm trying to do some upgrades, and as I'm presently between jobs money is ultra-limited. With that in mind, do these components work together?
This list is currently compiled from NCIX, so if I can find these cheaper elsewhere, do tell  Bear in mind I'm canadian, so US outlets are useless to me.

Before you all wander off screaming "lol fail hardware get this instead" I need to update EVERYTHING. My system is so old that at this point I have to do a mobo upgrade. Which means now I need new ram, SATA drives, PCI-E components...the works. I can't afford to do that, so if I can get a good base to work from, maybe in a month I can do a video card upgrade, next month I can do ram. See where I'm going with this?
So in your opinion, for now will this be enough to get me by? Can I go cheaper? Maybe get a 4550? or even a 3650? I don't need mega graphics...just playing WoW right now, and some Fallout 3. What do you guys think?

4 dollars more expensive , but alot faster , alot cooler, uses alot less power, and serious overclocking headroom , you can undervolt this baby and OC it to 3.3ghz at the same time.

20 dollar cheaper, i wouldnt ever buy any slower or cheaper card new if you intent to run any sort of 3d game , 4670 is a great card low power low heat, but everything cheaper is slower by quite a big margin, cant go wrong with $70

you have prob fucked up your mobo or your psu
the pwr_fan connector is an output to your fans , and should only have casefans on it , it is NOT intended to have anything from your PSU connected to.

you have a link to a manual where it actually says to do that?

Can't have fucked up the mobo....it wouldn't work if I did. I'm glad that Antec still has the manual for the powersupply, and it seems I'm over-reacting. Here's the blurb that I was talking about:

So it seems the rear fan only turns on when it gets too hot. Cool...it never used to do that I don't think...

Says right there that I can connect it. Why would antec lie?
Anyway, I think I'm done panicking. Everything seems to work. Now I just need to get used to windows 7 :s I'm not liking it so far....

Well the system is a hell of a lot quieter. Freaked me the hell out when I turned it on but couldn't even hear the cpu fan. >_< I miss my old KT400 system. Everything was so much simpler in those days...
So what do I need to do now? Install chipset drivers? Or did those go the way of the dodo too?

yes you need to install any up to date drivers you'll need, chipset being the most important. |

I wouldn't have gone with asus anyways :\ They've become very hit or miss with quality on their boards lately, last computer I built last year I had to RMA the board 2 times before I got one that worked. Another asus board I had came with a bad memory slot but didn't RMA it cause i never planned on putting mroe than 1 stick in it.
First time I used gigabyte it started up right away no issues and still no issues.

yeah asus did gone bad lately, gygabyte all the way, sometimes hard to find here coz they shove asus and other crap boards like foxxcon etc for the same price
