I can just presume that with "something sweet" pepsi wasn't exactly what was intended?
More like juice? Or watered down juice? If you drink pepsi you can as well just chow down a pack of sugar Very Happy

@deelix:
I know it would be better to drink water but I just need something with a little more taste.
I tried drinking nothing but water but it was pretty soon that I just couldn't stand it anymore.
Then again, I'm somewhat short on cash right now so after my current supply of beverages is done for I'll probably have to drink tap water anyway grinhurt

You shouldn't normally need to drink something "sweet", so long as you haven't been starving yourself or you're cycling a hell of a lot of miles. The body can store a lot of energy Wink Just drink water. Caffeine is a thermogenic and diuretic.

Tastes great here as well, the problem is it's never cold enough from the tap, just cool at best. So I usually put a glass of it into the freezer for a while before drinking, until it starts forming flakes.. Ah now that's sweet. Razz

Same with any cold drink really - I have my fridge on max. and still the soda cans or whatever aren't as good as they could be so if I have the time I always put them to the freezer for a while. Which is why I hate going to my parents, a friend's place etc, they always have their fridges at weakling settings and the drinks taste like crap since they aren't cold enough.

actually if you know how human organism works cold liquid aint effective to quench your thirst as organism has to waste energy to chill it down, means you develop thirst again faster than with cool drink.

Of course, but I was just talking about the best way to enjoy a drink, not the most effective way. During some heavy exercise it's another matter, naturally (and for extended periods of exercise you have to maintain electrolyte balance as well, not just fluid so there's better alternatives than just plain water). Hot tea ftw! Very Happy Flask some up sugar it up a bit and mod the lid to accept a large ass straw into your mouth.. one hole and a tight rubber bushing should suffice, and use a straw that is heavy duty so you can pop something like one of those cover up plates u get on furniture for hiding screws etc.. Very Happy

I love tea it always quenches my thirst...

Have you tried starving youself? You shouldn't drink soda, if you have starved it will mess you up. To sweet will make your heart go crazy :/

Just a question when it comes to Pepsi or well actually Pepsi max..

So yeah I've heard that if you are to drink any kind of soda or so as someone who trains regularly (example: cardio and weight) you should drink Pepsi max, cola light or cola zero.. Is this true and if it is why?

Sorry for hijacking the thread.

I hate Cola and/or Pepsi, it's too sweet and I had a friend who drank too much Cola (0,5 l every day) and after 6 months she ended up in hospital, and doctors didn't know what was wrong with her, and there was obviously sth wrong with her, but they didn't know what. So she stopped drinking it and now she's fine...

Seriously tho, you'd have MMO addicts and IT people dropping left and right if Coke had that effect. (and they drink a LOT more than half a liter each day...)

It really depends on the people, I know that when she stopped drinking it she stopped having health issues, I didn't say: If you drink cola/pepsi you'll die Rolling Eyes
