There was nasty storm in Cro yesterday (still is shitty weather) and some crazy guy was in his boat during it on one of our isles (he is actually pretty near that lightning somewhere). And I just noticed the resemblance

I need some nice nature areas around me to go shoot. If I get out of the city and past the suburbs there is nothing but flat corn fields. haha.

Nikon vs. Canon is sort of like Apple Mac vs. PC. Both cameras perform really well, one is geared toward a younger audience (especially the lower-price dSLR-segment) [Nikon], and the other is more technical (has more features and generally better quality [Canon]). Overall they both make good stuff, and preference is really as always - "whichever I picked is the best". And seeing how a lot of other good brands (eg. Konica) are left out, it's really quite stupid to keep the 'versus'-arguments going.
Facts are facts though, Canon is more expensive than Nikon. And in most tests, Canon win on image quality in tests between cameras in the same price-segment.
I got sold on Canon when my buddy Christian Laurila (somwhat famous snowboard photographer) converted me, hehe.
I just wish I could afford more lenses.
I also think fisk should be unbanned.

perhaps the dumbest comparison I've ever read.
If Nikon came in white and had half the features for twice the price, then maybe that would make sense. Given that Canon's are actually stylistically a bit more attractive (and more expensive) puts your comment basically in the 'retarded' category.

No, no they're not. Usually they're priced the same, or in some case (because Canon-houses do not have built-in image stabilizers and need it added to the lenses) Canon are more expensive. I don't know how you have gotten this idea, but go to any online-retailer and compare the same lenses and you'll find that they're usually in the same pricerange with smaller differences.

the best and most expensive lenses are usually made by canon, like EF 800mm and 16-35mm

That guy isn't comparing the same lenses ffs, arrgh... of course a 14-24mm lens is going to be more expensive than a 16-35. If you can't be bothered to figure out the differences between the lenses then of course everything will seem like crazy price-differences. Compare the SAME lenses with different mounts, then you find the real difference (which usually isn't that big). Also there are different build-qualities within the same lenses. Like for instance the popular 50mm-segment that has everything from a cheap plastic, manual focus lens to a more expensive aluminium lens with a built in engine, and extremely expensive precise focal glasses.
If you really want to compare price-ranges on lenses you need to pick out the exact same model. For instance:

Same price, same lens, same build quality from same manufacturer - but with different mounts. And guess what? Same price!
Yes, cyberphoto aren't the cheapest retailers in Sweden, but the customer-service they provide and the bonuses you get from purchasing from them are in my opinion excellent. When you're buying in the cheaper segment (like around 1000-2000) that don't matter as much as when you want something more expensive, and don't really want that cheap online-store you bought from to crash and have no way of getting an RMA-slip. (Like what happened to KameraExperten in Sweden).
