That's okay they'd just dumb it down even more. This one would feature no customization. You'd just get in the mech and there would be one button labeled "kill" you'd push it and win.

April.... oh wait... Well do hope we get MechWarrior 5 I find it awfully strange that the series died out in the first place it was decently popular. Just think how sexy the Mechs can look with our hardware today too.

Wasn't the Mechwarrior franchise sold or something to some company that didn't do nothing whit the title?
If i remember correctly the franchise was bought by another party some time ago.

But anyways i really hope there's gonna be Mechwarrior V.
God i loved Mechwarrior IV.

No i meant this:

Quote:
When Microsoft pulled the plug on FASA Studio, the developer that took over the series from Activision following Mechwarrior 2, it looked like it might be the end of the franchise. But in December 2007, FASA founder Jordan Weisman announced he had licensed the rights to Mechwarrior and other properties through his new startup, Smith & Tinker, saying he wanted to "surprise and delight old fans, while welcoming new fans to these fantastic worlds."

I thought the Smith & Tinker company sold the license again after a few years of not using it, but i got it wrong. They annoucend a possible MW game, which seems to be officially announced soon.

My bad.

It seems indeed that this is no joke anymore

If that video really shows the ingame experience it will be awesome. Hope they wont focus on graphics only and actually let us do major modifications on our mechs. Must wait and see for more information on the project.

Oh. My. God. The reveal trailer, scripted though it may be, was incredible.

This is so fucking awesome. One of my dreams is coming true. MechWarrior, back under the control of it's original creators. A sweet-sounding new game. It sounds too good to be true. Tears of joy! Very Happy

My first initial reaction after watching the trailer (aside from pure joy), is that I hope I'll be able to configure the game to be controlled with this:

Well, Smith & Tinker is only 2 years old anyways, so, they've been busy, I'm sure. Smile

It'll probably be all over the place tomorrow.

Awesome, pure awesome. Loved that video. Very Happy
Been hoping for a new mechwarrior for ages and got heartbroken when someone at FASA said that they won't make a new mechwarrior game since they didn't think they had anything new to offer to the series.

Better be nothing like mechassault though.

The trailer was ok, its not orgasmic at all really I thought, Pretty basic layout vid (just like a Grin ghost recon setup)

And I thought the action was a bit er stale? They sort of just sat there shooting at eachother with no real attempt of evading other than side step to same building 3 times.

Not worthy of an epic trailer stamp.. They could of done alot better these days..

Very Happy well thats what I think.. Not that it matters Smile

Any pc drivers for that beast? I got a controller gathering dust at home, sadly no xbox to play the game on.

EDIT: Googled, and yes there is indeed a driver for the Steel Battalion controller. Smile

Fuck my wig, this is the best news ever, after Microshaft taking on the FASA licence and then fucking Mechwarrior up the ass with a big stick, it returns home to get the proper treatment it deserves from the original team, best news ever period, this has made my year.

Some few extra game details that I couldn't find in the IGN preview (IGN preview also has a few screens now, though perhaps I just missed those when I first checked it.)

Seems to use UE3 as well, might work quite well if they make the most of the engine. Smile

The player was using a Loki or Thor.

Too bad they're using UE3, not gonna feel right.

Agreed deff looks like a Loki, dont think it's a Thor (Summoner) though but could be wrong, why is the UE3 engine so bad? I'm just glad that this is in the making.

I really hope that the player was supposed to "beat" the Atlas, cause there is no way the Loki would win in that battle. The Atlas would just slaughter most mechs in close combat.

<nerd_mode>
Nope. The player was using a Warhammer. You can also see it on the HUD on the right side (guess it's some kind of damage report). Both Thor and Loki are Clan Mechs. But since the year is 3015 the Clans aren't even on the map yet (Clan invasion started 3049).
