I was fiddling yesterday with Virtal CD 9 and uninstalled it after about an hour.
After that, I cannot burn disc in Nero or other burning software.
My optical drive is recognized in WinXP properly (DVD RW drive), it can play CDs and DVDs but burning software can`t find the optical drive.
I have tried some suggested solutions but with no luck:
- removing upper and lower filters with regedit
- uninstalling daemon tools
- uninstalling nero and trying various alternative burning software
- uninstalling the optical drive via control panel / device manager and rebooting afterwards
Could somebody help me resolve this issue without formatting the disk?
After reinstalling WinXP, I got the samoe problem.
It seems that Win32 TDSS trojan was the culprit.
So, anyone with the same problem, aside from other solutions, should scan the PC in safe mode with Spybot and Dr Web (as BitDefender didn`t caught the virus).
