In most of the cartons i watch like Family guy american dad and so on there are joke I don't get and think most other don't understand either.

Like in the episode there Stewie need a babysitter, there is a scene with a blob thing and a brown dinosaur that shoot brown things from it's nose. Wtf?

A website with a page for every episode there thees things are explained would be nice.

A website that explains jokes?

Thats just horrible on so many levels bud.

Not try to bring you down, I could be wrong. But if you have to explain a joke....the joke is no longer funny you know?

Not to mention people who don't get jokes are usually slow, idiots or stupid.
I don't think so people would be cruising the net for a joke explaining site.

But hey, give it a shot. Hope it works out if you go for man Very Happy

well using family guy for instance, theres a lot of jokes when they use their "like back when such n such" and they do the family guy flash back which is usually some hidden sorta joke.

Like the one he posted, I had no idea what it was all about either, never did so I ignored it, I knew the scene he was talking about and I could never hear lois clear enough to get who the two "babysitters were" till he just recited it to me, then I looked up the word and got it all.

It's a good idea personally and it's more a read between the lines explanation.

Plus in most cartoon/comedy shows there's bound to be alot of pop-culture reference which people outside the US (like, well, most of the world's population Razz ) don't get because we never had that specific culturual thingie around.
I can't find an example for that but there's a whole lot of stuff like that.

Thats true. It might work for Europeans and what not.

But for North Americans....won't go over well and would prolly fail.

6.700.000.000 (World population) - 300.000.000 (US residents) = 6.400.000.000 (Non US residents)

yes, that's about right.

Sorry, I tend to use American and "US" synonym for North Americans in general.
Not trying to insult you Canadians just a common generalization on my part Wink
Although I suppose I'd rather hang out with Canadians than US Americans but that's completly based on internet and media bias because I believe up to now I never met either a Canadian or American.
Or if I have that encounter was anything but memorable Very Happy

Btw. how is that with you Canadians and your fear of the dark?
Well, I suppose I watched to much How I Met Your Mother lately Laughing

Canadians fear the dark? Naw man. Fearing the dark is a personal thing. Irrelevant of where you come from man.

Still, calling a Canadian an American is an insult.

We love Americans, they are our brothers. But there are big difference between us even tho we are very very similar.

I didn't take offence to it or anything.

But if you ever meet a Canadian and you call them American, they will get pissed.
Its like calling a...I dunno...an Englishmen a Frenchmen you know?

Don't get me wrong, the vast majority of Canucks love Americans. We're cousins/brothers. But like I said, there are fundamental differences between us.

And thats why I always say North American when talking about Canadians and Americans.
North America has nothing to do the US. Mexico is also part of NA.

I mean, to see the differences between us...visit NYC and then visit Toronto. U will completely understand what I mean.

But so we are clear, I like Americans. I have tons of US family members and I have been to the US fuckin tons of times and they are really nice people for the most part. Smile

I dunno if your joking but it is.

Toronto has its share of gun crimes (every weekend someone is getting shot or stabbed) but generally, its a safe place man.

And clean.

Compared to the US...man, Canada is so clean (like as in litter and garbage and stuff).

When one of my cousins came here a few years ago from Cali, she couldn't believe how clean Toronto was.

And I've been all over the US and its true man.

Not insulting the US or anything, just Canada (more specifically, its major cities) is way cleaner than the US.
Especially compared to NYC. Thats a fuckin dirty city (tho a really fun one, I love NYC....great party town).

EDIT

But both Canada and the US are 100x cleaner than France Laughing

Wait, all that stuff is in America too ;D
Hm. Am I right to assume that the whole assortment of medicine and pills is cheaper in Canada? Then it's indeed a safer place to live Laughing

It won't happen again, I'm learning slowly but I am learning my lesson about the differences in Northern America Wink

I just wish that I'll have the money to someday make a reaaaaaally long vacation in North America.
There's so much stuff I'd like to see in the US and I'll be damned if I won't visit Canada Very Happy
But that is one expensive undertaking so that will have to wait several years at least...

Canada and the US are awesome places to visit man

And yeah, medicine in Canada is way cheaper than in the US.

Seniors in the US make trips to Canada to buy like a years worth of meds.

We have "generic" medicine.

Like you know Atavan? It costs alot cuz its name brand. We have the exact same medication but its called Lorazepam. The generic version and it costs a fraction of the name brand.

According to cousins of mine, all medicine in the US is name brand hence the reason its so expensive.

Just another example of their failed healthcare system man.

My dad was seriously seriously hurt in 2000. If we would have been in the US, all his surgeries and medication would have cost minimum 200g's +.
We didn't pay for a thing.
And he only pays for one med and its fuckin dirt cheap. The same med in the US would be twice if not 3 times expensive dude.

Thats why I laugh my ass off when I hear GOP Senators/Congressmen say that the US has the best health care system in the world Rolling Eyes
And recently, one said they don't want to be like Canada or England as our health care system is one of the worst in the world (was on The Colbert Report).
I literally choked on my cigar I was smoking.

Thats the problem with US Politicians (and most politicians), they think a) they know everything and b) US Bureaucrats think the US is the best country in every possible way which is flat out not true

The US has tons of good attributes but in some areas.....fuck.....

nah, we have a lot of generic named meds here as well you can get from supermarkets and shit.

Ususually when they prescribe shit for you, you can ask for a "generic" edition of the drug.

You my friend have hit the nail on the head.

But the majority of Americans can't afford the good the healthcare their elected officials receive which is fuckin criminal in my book.

Its not the same man. Thats why Americans who live in like Maine and those States come to Canada to get drugs.

Don't you remember the big deal that went on a few years ago?

And why aren't you watch The Daily Show and next up, The Colbert Report Very Happy

Since Conan O'Fag took over for Leno....the 3 late night talk shows suck. Letterman is as funny as The Plague and Jimmy Fallon hasn't found his groove yet.
And Jimmy Kimmel is simply not funny.

Only late nite shows that keep me in stitches the whole show is Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert.

Some jokes may also be stuck in time as they may relate to recent things. Site could also bring in some bonus info on episodes, like in the south park the episode with the "IT", that is based on the launch of the segway.

Yeah, I see your reasoning.

It could work. But I do think it should be aimed at Europeans or other people who's first language isn't English and tweens/teens. Smile

Cause my 12 year old niece would prolly like it.

She watches Two and a Half Men with me and even tho she says she gets the jokes, I highly doubt she gets the majority of them you know?

Yeah, could work man. If you do it, best of luck bud Smile

That show is a huge show man.

Sheen gets like 2.5 million PER EPISODE. Highest paid tv actor/sitcom actor in the history of Television.

Everyone I know watches it pretty much.

I love Two and A Half Men. Funniest show on TV. I was a lot like Charlie (aside from the being rich and a Malibu beach house) before I got with Angela.

Its one of TV's highest rated shows as it gets tons of viewers each week. Mondays, 9pm on NBC. NBC most popular show.
And now that, that fag Conan is hosting The Tonight Show....its NBC ONLY good show.

And fuck, its on 3 times a day (different episodes). If you count how many chans its on a day (least for me anyway), its on like 10 channels.
And on Saturday's its on from 5pm-11:30pm lol
Huge show man.

It will probably run as long or longer as Fraiser did (Fraiser ran for 11 years).
Cause once Jake becomes like 18-21ish, it will add a whole new dimension to the show you know?
Now he's just starting to date and such you know? What till his character gets older.

And its been on since '04.

Despite the fact Spykez you and I have had our problems, in some ways, we are very similar. Funny eh? lol Smile

Maybe its the folks from Iowa man. Who knows?

Its big pretty much everywhere else.
Like Northern/East Coast US/Canada and its popular in BC. But provinces like Saskatchewan (hick province), shows like "Heartland" are popular.

Look up Heartland.....STUPID FUCKIN HILLBILLY SHOW. I swear.....I dunno why Canadian tv like to put on all these stupid country based shows.

But you know The Listener (its on NBC at 10pm on...I dunno what day), its all done in Toronto man Smile

Gradually, Canadian Television people are realizing there are other genres besides British style shows (Cornation Street is big here for women 50+) or stupid shows about "life in the country"......seriously, WHO THE FUCK CARES about shit like that man?

Within 5 years, we will have good shows. And the country shows will only be shown out West and Nova Scotia/Newfoundland region.

People in Southern Ontario and the GTA could careless about the drama that goes on, on a farm you know? lol Smile
