everyone needs a life lie, it may become true or it may not, but at least it keeps you going.

Anyways I've just read Asimovs short story: The Last Question. Try reading it, it will make your day a bit easier (Nice twist in the end)

I like that, as long as you don't try and force your lie onto other people (like so many organised religions) it's all good.

I dont know if this is an experience or just a dream but I was asleep and I could see myself asleep (I could see what I was wearing and what position I was in while sleeping) from above then I floated upwards and upwards untill I could see the top of my house, the roof and the chimney, I kept floating upwards untill I was in space and then I just woke up. It felt so real and I can still remember every detail. I've had a couple more experiences also.
I like bum.

that's only a dream, if we could see, hear and sense as "spirits" then we'd have no need for these bodies and their functions.
just to show that the spiritual point of view is pretty flawed

I am prepared to die every day.
I'm a trucker. I live on the roads. I drive on dangerous norwegian mountain roads daily.
At anytime the road can collapse and my truck will fall down a few hundred meters into a fjord.
Or there can be some huge rocks rolling down the mountainside and hit me.
Or there can be some stupid/drunk driver crashing with me.
Or I can fall asleep or do some other silly mistake and crash and die.
We all will die.. There is no way to escape from death.
If I die today or in 100 years is not my choice. I die when I die.
I hate you.

Hey, how does my name get involved in such random ways? I open a thread, and see Juba always making these silly, cringe inducing love confessions.

What I find scary is the dying part, slow and drawn out, the suffering. Not death itself. For me the scary part is getting older and being at the mercy of the health care system because I won't have a family (kids) to watch out for me and I have seen how they get treated.
I think my grandmother was really lucky because she had her kids to watch out for her when she got sick. She could look back on her life, knowing it was coming to an end and see the good that she was able to leave behind. That is the point of life I guess, making new life and continuing that cycle. I think you kinda beat death that way.
