Altus is teaming up with ACE Team (Zeno Clash, Abyss Odyssey) again, this time to put is at the heart of a B-movie.
Deadly Tower of Monsters puts players in the shoes of one of a number of protagonists that have classic 70s science fiction names. Dick Starspeed, Scarlet Nova, and The Robot all have their own pros and cons, and you'll be able to swap among them at checkpoints.
Throughout the game, you'll need to ascend the titular title, find hidden areas, and dispose of animatronic and rubber-suited aliens. Deadly Tower of Monsters is coming to PlayStation 4 and PC in FALL 2015.

Features
Developed entirely in color thanks to the miraculous power of monsterama.
A hero’s choice lasts forever! Or at least until the nearest sleep chamber where you can pick Starspeed, Scarlet, and yes, even the robot.
Watch out! Climbing to the top of the tower means you might fall off! But gravity is no foe to Dick Starspeed and crew; freefall to explore new areas and find incredible treasures.
It’s a talkie with a laff-a-minute commentary from the director himself.
Blast ’em, Scarlet! A wide array of lethal weapons are in our heroes’ arsenal to maim, shoot, and zap their way through all the enemies! Woe to those poor enemies who forget about their super secret powers to boot!
still not really sure what to think of this one :-/ It looks the right kind of crazy like usual from ACE , but not really sure about the gameplay itself
Seems to use UE3, interesting to see that it's still in use although I guess if the projects been in development for a few years it's not too surprising that there will be some last few UE3 driven games.
(Like that upcoming shooter with that texture/photo tech.)

What's that?
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
I forgot what it was called but we have a thread on this forum on it, they had this laser scanning technique for texture work to make more detailed environments, a bit like Vanishing of Ethan Carter I believe but not quite the same method.
Yeah I think I remember it a bit as well but I can't remember the name either!

I've tried the yarr for some time, this AceTower is alright as a timewaster. Always appreciate the Acemen for pulling off out of the ordinary stuff
I mean it's a rather (as in, very) simplistic isometric hack 'n slash but the really unique style, bizarre B-movie-like feel and narrator make it worthwhile. The graphics are actually good, even though the VHS mode has way too much chromatic aberration
Perhaps the only problem is that I can see it becoming repetitive in the long run (although this is a problem with the whole genre). It plays nice with mouse+kb too so all is well.

Was gifted this recently and just finished it. It's definitely a textbook example of sytle over substance.
The voice acting, the soundtrack, and the jokes are the highlights. gameplay itself is incredibly simplistic, lacks any challenge and overstays it welcome even though it's a 5 hour game. Realistically a 5/10, but those that enjoy this type of humor a 6-7/10 is more appropriate.
The game premise is that a director of the movie is doing a commentary for a dvd release of his movie and interactivity of the voice over is of slightly lesser quality than bastion. It's not as frequent nor completely follows your on screen actions, but it will on occasion comment based on what you do on screen.
A stock gtx970 can run it constant 60 fps at 1080p. 1440p only with a decent overclock.
IMO : A Mock Dvd Remaster Movie About The History Of B Movie Cinematography ... build on a design from games you saw on PS1/PS2 (1998-2002) ... the game was awful ... the only thing that sells this are those titbits about B Movie making
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
