Some douchebags being loud at 1.00 start having their own fightclub and are fighting right in front of the apartment buildings. Fed up with them clowns you call 112, tell them they are fighting... an hour later and 20 mins after those clowns went inside their apartment still no cops
I know I shouldn't expect the 5 minute service I had in Belgium, but this is pathetic. No wonder a lot of people around here (well the chavs) think they can do whatever they want.

Nah, wouldn't blame it all on the cops. It's pretty much Sweden's dysfunctional system
They only have 2 cars in the close region, where I lived in Belgium we had 4 cars on patrol for 1/3 of the territory and five people in the station and that was the night shift staff
But hey they like to call themselves a western like country (only applies to the few big cities they have )

Well, if there's fist-fights the cops don't have anyone to pre-emptively gun down. You should've said you heard a gun firing, then the cops would be there in a jiffy to hopefully be able to finally score some frags.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

Kempen
And no in Belgium it doesn't take them 1,5 hour to respond to an emergency call like it does here

Contrary to some people on this board, I don't resent police, nor have I ever had problems with them. So I don't share the whole: 'Omgur cops are bad, because look at these incidents!'.

If something like that happened here they would turn on the sirens two blocks away so the hooligans would have time to get away. Less paperwork and they broke up the fight, without doing any work. |
I'd be ok with that, at least they'd know someone is around then

Their fighting skills were not easy on the eye for someone who did Muy Thai, and they looked nothing like the Pitt
Tho I had a laugh when they were saying:
Ey ey, hit me in the face
*Guy punches him in the face*
FFS, don't hit me in the face like that
Prime specimens they were

Because their system fails. Don't worry, I blame arseholes on a daily basis, but they also need infrastructure and systems in place to deal with a growing population of shitheads.
It's not only about the big cities, something they don't seem to get around here.
I like to see people trying to achieve betterment, but a lot of people around here seem to be stuck and are quite content to stay with what they know... while the world around them is moving on.
Some systems/ideas still come from the 70/80's with no intention of rethinking, partially or fully.
I've seen better so maybe that's also a reason why I'm more whiny on these things

Still, not the country's fault.
Blame the infrastructures and the institutions, never the country itself because it sure as hell didn't do anything wrong.
I love my country, I just hate the fucking people.

Brazil, I double dare you.
On a more serious note, the shortage of cops is probably ok, it's not like there's a lot of crime going on in Sweden... and noise at 1am, while really annoying, is not an emergency. |
Nah for noise we need to call rental cops, it was about the fighting. Shortage of cops is never okay, or do you really think western worlds have that low criminality?
I do see that there is a false picture about Sweden by most. If you hear people you'd think this is the paradise place in Europe. Which it's not, it has as much problems as any country and I am of the opinion they are ill equipped for future society (even more so than most western countries).
I always want people going for better, but after 32 years the thing I see the most in people is being happy with complacency since that costs less energy.
Cynical but njeh...
