seems like cool idea, only question does it avoid obstacles (e.g. electricity lines etc.) |
Nope, not yet
Quote: | Can AirDog avoid obstacles?
We are working on obstacle avoidance technology and will release it as an add-on as soon as it is ready. Release date will be announced later.
There are no drones in consumer market currently that can avoid obstacles. We believe that we can finalize R&D of this sytem soon and start production of it to make AirDog drones even safer.
Curently AirDog cannot see or avoid any obstacles in its flight path. It is your responsibility to use AirDog in unobstructed areas, or to set appropriate altitude requirements or flight modes in order to avoid collisions. You can, of course, use AirDog in areas with obstacles, provided you have set the flight mode to follow your trajectory in order to avoid obstacles. In areas with trees or other obstructions, we recommend that you maintain at least a 10-meter distance from obstacles on all sides when AirDog is in follow mode. Keep in mind the risks of operating AirDog if you’re headed into a tunnel or underneath a bridge. |

No drone currently avoids obstacles and every manufacturer says that they're working on it which is pretty much bullshit. They can avoid buildings but not lines and branches.
Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube

most countrys started to ban civilian drones since like 2 years ago. at the best, you need a permit.

since it happend in my country, i took a look over the general laws, and most contry's forbid air drones over populated areas, cities and so. dont have now time to look for, but i presume there are enough articles on the net.
some allow drones in populated areas, but you need a commercial permit for it. (at least that i remember from reading 1 year ago).
