I'm gonna quote one of the replies from that page, and I sort of agree with this ...

I dont think I've grown as a person by watching these movies, but at the same time I was very entertained ... can't help it

What the fuck? I love scifi, have a fantastic imagination and have fun every single day. How about this for a reason why a lot of us don't like the bastardisation Bay did to our franchise? It's because we grew up with the toys, the cartoons, the fanfuckingtastic anime movie, the comics.. etc etc etc... and now, 20 years later, some douchebag comes along and takes a warm shit all over the name. That's why there's a lot of hate and that's why the movies are trash - because they are. Bay/et al RUINED Transformers. He ruined the plot, he ruined the characters, he ruined the setting ... but hey, we're not allowed to be annoyed at that because someone thinks the movies are great and that everybody should love them.

I mean, when I saw the original transformers cartoon and the animated movie, I was a kid ... and everything seemed amazing at the moment ... at age 10 ... I don't expect that a movie based on a robotic cartoon would blow me away with its amazing ... acting?!
its a kid movie geared towards kids ... it always was and always will be ...

Yet even today, the anime movie and original series still stands up and is enjoyable to watch. What has the Baysplosion version got? Pretty CGI. It sure doesn't have any character IMO. I'm not shitting on you mate, really I'm not, and I'm certainly not going to mock you for enjoying the the series -- I'm just voicing the reasons why people like me dislike them.

If the first movie (only one I saw BTW) didn't focus on his daily retardness but instead on the actual robot fighting it would at least be mildly enjoyable.

what does he have to do with the script ? do you really think if someone else would have had the role, it magicly would have turned into something good ?
He is an actor, he gets a script and a director is telling him what to do.

Hmmm I think you misunderstood me... or I didn't explain myself properly.
It's not the matter of another actor besides ledouche playing the same role, but about completely eliminating (or greatly reducing) his character (and a few other human characters) from the films/franchise.
IMO it would improve it greatly.

well i think the transformers movies have progressively gotten better.
i mean look at the first one. megan fox and no transformers, dumb story, shit action. look at the third one, LOTS of transformers, great action and no megan fox.. yeah ok so the story is still shit but meh  . apparently the 4th one is going one better by getting rid of shia, so... shit, why the hell not? ive long since accepted that we'll never get a hollywood movie anything like the original animated movie, so i may as well enjoy it for the spectacle... which the third film had a shitload of.

him or the character, doesnt matter... they're both outa there so thats a plus no matter how you look at it.
my point is that after the franchises dismal start, to me they got better and better as the robots became more and more focused on. the setpieces, the cgi and choreography... the ACTION... it just got better, and since ive already accepted that you'll never get a decent transformers story out of hollywood... just let bay do what he does so well (and has shown to do better with each film in the franchise)... make it big, loud and fun, with shitloads of cgi. im actually happy that HE is doing another one (i dont think it was ever in doubt that theyd do another tranny film...)
cant wait to see what kinda paint job optimus gets. i hope its a flaming skull or a naked chick with a sword.... forget the skull, definately hope its the second one.

To be honest? Nope.. lol. I'm not all that keen on the recent attempts to revive Transformers, for me it will always be G1 and the Marvel_Hasbro movie, but they're from the 80s. There is a new one called Prime which is... well it's watchable, I guess, though it doesn't compare to G1 in my opinion.
