Hi all,

I've got a 3770k i7 overclocked to 4.2Ghz and using a h100, temps are hitting 29 and full load is 68 is that any good? It's summer here so my office is pretty hot.

What kind of summer is that?

I'm at stock 3570K@3.5GHz and my temps at no load are 40 degrees Laughing Laughing , I don't even want to know how much are they during full load.

Ya those temps are fine.

I'm on air cooling with the same CPU OC'd @ 4.3 and my temps are around 30-34 idle and 70-74 under load. This is during the summer so it's normal to be a bit higher.... dat humidity!

@ prz, that seems a bit too high for idle Sad

A H100/H100i cooling performance depends on if you have fans that push out air through the radiatior or pulls through the radiator as well as what kind of fans you have, if the grille on the case is obstructing (ie having a ~60% open area vs an ~80% all based on the thickness of the metal between the ventilation holes etc.).

With Hydrocoolers, esp. the Corsair H-series you want static pressure fans and the best ones are the Noctua NF-F12. They're the best fans for putting on a H100/H100i (and probably the rest of the series as well) in a pull-configuration, ie. the radiator is below the fans while the fans are pulling air out through the radiator.

I have to rebuild my H100i-setup since it's far from optimal (the two fan-places on the top of the case are for 140mm while the fans for my Corsair H100i are 120mm so I had to drill and cut to even get them mounted. I also put the fans on the outside pulling out air through the top grille which has too much metal in the grille mesh which means I'm going to cut away all of that and replace with a fine low-resistance mesh as well as mounting the fans on top of the radiator and keep both the fans and the radiator inside the case.

@tw1st Yea, because I didn't turn on my AC yet...

Now that my AC is on almost 24hrs a day...it's like below 30C constantly. Very Happy Very Happy

I hear ya man, I've been trying to not run the AC myself, that shit skyrockets my electric bill lol.

With all that great humidity we've been having it's a must now Sad
