a very good friend of mine (let's say, i consider him a brother) proposed to join him in his "business". basically it's doing "lasers" during events. He has all the material (just to give an idea, 1 laser alone is like 10000€) and he'll teach me how to use them, so i can do events on my own (he has enough material for 2 events). All he wants, is 200€/event for "rent" (or cut if you want lol). He is payed between 600€ and 1000€/ night for "normal" weekly events.
So basically, if i do an event and they pay me 600€, i get 400€ myself and 200€ for him. if i am payed more, it's still 200€ for him and everything else for me.
sounds like a sweet deal, no ?

Yes. I guess he benefits because you will help to try and get more business. I wonder if that 200€ for him will increase at some point. |
if it was "purely business" between him and me, maybe. but he really is as close to a brother as i have. And he told me, he doesn't care how much i make, it will ALWAYS be 200€ only and never more.
Also he is one of the friends who can really open doors for me (he works for the swiss television and also at big events (for example paléo festivale in july, for which he gave me full access passes for the whole week ) And he also got me on contact (i.e. friends of him which are now my friends as well) who also work in the "audio-visual" business and do big things. i also have a good female friend, who is one of the main sound technicians at the "montreux jazz festival". So i am really lucky, that i have such great friends , who happen to also have the ability to introduce me in that "higher level" of "entertainment"
i mean already work in that "universe", so it's just natural to raise up in it hehe.
Oh, the 11. of juin we have SLAYER in concert where i work
ps: before someone gets jealous, next week i work monday - friday 8:00 - 17:00 and friday and sunday from 22:00- 6:00
so basically i work 56-60 hours next week alone.
Yeah, i'm not lazy (and yeah, i am still an anarchist hehe)

Well I bet you aren't stupid and even though he is like your brother... check if the insurance and such checks out and how to deal with 'machine failure/breakage'.
I don't have to tell you, but a laser is quite delicate to handle.
