how fucking hard is to fix that damn catch up bug?! just make it the way it is against ai attackers. I can never get them when that have a faster player, but fucking 2m tall tanks always get my short and agile attackers. It's been fucking months already and still this shit persists. patches did fuck all for this  It's the biggest thing ruining this game right now. most of the other annoying shit got fixed, but it's the single most fucked up thing in this game. how'd it end up in the final game at all? it's game breaking.

It is very annoying indeed  , and completely unrealistic too, but I guess it's the only way for the AI to remain competitive to a certain level and avoid easy defeats against the more skilled human opponent. More advanced patterns don't exist, so these cheap tricks are often used and sadly abused.
The same thing happens in arcade racing games too, with the rubber band effect based on scripts and exploits (slower cars can easily catch up and overtake you, whereas you struggle immensely even if your vehicle is clearly superior). It's very rage-inducing

Hate it when games do that. Same with them damn race games, usually ends up with me driving shit on purpose to go all out on the last lap

ffs, im struggling on medium difficulties anyways just fucking lose the annoying thing and id up the difficulty a notch or so.
