Trailer:

Instabuy! I sunk like 330 hours into Skyrim on PS3 despite the constant crashing and freezing. Didnt play the DLC as much as I thought I would either and thats all included! Also MOD support! You can PC Masterace me all you want. My PC is crap so Im all over this!

Unfortunately I think Ill be getting this for Xbox One as Sony are not allowing Bethesda to allow MOD support on PS4!

http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2016/09/09/bethesda-says-sony-wont-allow-skyrim-or-fallout-4-mods-on-ps4

Quote:
After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition.

Like you, we are disappointed by Sony’s decision given the considerable time and effort we have put into this project, and the amount of time our fans have waited for mod support to arrive. We consider this an important initiative and we hope to find other ways user mods can be available for our PlayStation audience. However, until Sony will allow us to offer proper mod support for PS4, that content for Fallout 4 and Skyrim on PlayStation 4 will not be available.

We will provide an update if and when this situation changes.

Mad

Im sure the game will perform better on Xbox anyway as the original Skyrim did!

I'm sure it won't because most Xbox one ports run worse than ps4 version.

The original 360 version ran better because of how complicated was the PS3 SDK.

This is not the case anymore with the ps4 one.

Hmm you make a good point. Hopefully Digital Foundry can provide some evidence before the game releases.

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2016-10-21-skyrim-mods-can-only-be-1gb-on-ps4-but-5gb-on-xbox-one

Quote:
On PS4 mod reserve space will only be 1GB, Bethesda has confirmed. That's a little more than the original 900MB limit Sony had imposed, but not much. Comparatively, the Xbox One version will allow 5GB for mod reserve space.

That being said, many believe that 1GB will be more than enough space for the PS4 version of Skyrim as it won't allow mods that use outside assets.

Well based on the mod support or lack of on PS4, Ive preordered on Xbox One!

Its a shame the achievements are disabled when using mods although the comments in this article mention a mod to remove the achievements block! Laughing

http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2017/09/27/skyrim-special-edition-1-5-update-includes-creation-club/

Quote:
A new update to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition is in the works and planned for a wide release in October.
According to Bethesda, the update will, among other things, introduce Bethesda’s Creation Club into the game, allowing users to purchase mods when they come out for the platform. Ahead of the 1.5 update going wide to users on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, PC users can download the beta for the update now by finding the game in their Steam library and changing the update version to Beta 1.5.

Also included in the 1.5 update is the Survival Mode for Skyrim. For those unfamiliar with it, think of it is as the hardest possible way to experience Skyrim. Survival Mode presents challenges that aren’t found in the game’s current levels of difficulty, and adds a bit more realism to the game. Here’s just some of what you’ll find when you jump into Survival Mode:

* Fast Travel is disabled.
* Traveling in snowy or rainy areas will increase your Cold and Cold decreases your total available health.
* Warmth: The higher your warmth rating, the more slowly you will feel the effects of cold environments.
* Taking a swim in an ice-cold river can kill you.
* You no longer regenerate health.
* To level up, you must now sleep in a bed.
* Your carry weight has been significantly reduced.
* Creatures across the land now carry threatening new diseases, and previous diseases are now even more debilitating.
* Shrines no longer cure diseases for free; you must now make a gold offering in order to receive the shrine’s benefits.
