It's been in development at French studio Cyanide for a year, publisher Focus Home Interactive said. Cyanide was the developer of 2009's Blood Bowl, the video game based on Games Workshop's violent American Football-themed Warhammer spin-off board game.
Like Blood Bowl 1, Blood Bowl 2 is a turn-based strategy game. It's in the works for PC. A release window is yet to be announced.
The video, below, shows off commentators Jim Johnson the Vampire and Bob Bifford the Ogre ex-star player in CGI form. Both will be in Blood Bowl 2.
"In Blood Bowl 2, Jim and Bob will be with us, flesh and blood, throughout the game," Focus said. "They will be modelled, and animated in their Cabalvision studio that will be the main interface for the game.
"The whole game will be presented in a Cabalvision theme - the official Blood Bowl TV - where Jim and Bob will guide players, comment their decisions and will even interview key star players appearing in the huge campaign mode."
Blood Bowl is great, but there are already plenty of opportunities to play online in various ways, so hopefully this game isn't yet another version of that. What's needed is a way to play it realistically and be challenged in single player mode.. so I hope Cyanide's been working on their AI.
Sure does! And hopefully they will have learned a lot from the mistakes of the first game - if its feature and race complete I will instant buy the minute I can.
i dont give a fuck about these "promises": they always promise something and then the game is utterly bugged to the bone.
this time, i will wait until it will be discounted instead of blind-buy 3 times in a row.

Well yeah.. probably, but at least they're trying to do something about it.
gl finding ai that aint cheating to hell T.T while i don't mind certain cheats for the ai some should just never been coded like no fog of war for the ai etc
Looks like they are going down the same route as the first game, with minimal teams in the base version so they can double and triple dip down the line.

There's no fog of war in Blood Bowl.. the common thing there is to have players accuse computerized versions of BB to outright cheat with the dice rolls, or in mysterious ways just not being as accurate and genuine as the real, physical dice of the original game, but that's in all likelihood just perceptional bias.
Still, the issue with the AI has never been cheating, just being totally incompetent in its decision making.

Yeah, without a doubt they'll stagger those releases for more than a year after the game is out.
I tried to get into Blood Bowl recently, the amount of cheating the AI does is ridiculous. If you use the exact same team and try to dance around tackles like the AI does, you won't finish a full turn the whole game.
Maybe it's for the better, the AI is so stupid it can't even understand the concept of "2 turns left to score, do something" or "not enough time to score, just conserve your rerolls"
The only tactic it knows is boxing the ball handler, I played 8 games and the AI made exactly 0 passes. Single-player is boooring, uninstalled it again.
We’re excited to announce that the Blood Bowl 2 multiplayer beta is now live. That means you’re able to jump in and play the game right away and start earning XP for your coaches, and developing your teams. Yup, that means that your saves, teams, and coaches will not be deleted upon launch.
Anyway, I don't care about public MP, seems you can play against AI in the beta so downloading (2.9GB) this thing right naow
There are no NDA on the beta, so many live-stream are up already :
