Age of Mythology:Extended Edition could be heading to Steam soon, according to an Age of Empires developer stream posted on Twitch. The game logo was shown with the Steam logo on it, and you can see the tease for yourself at the 43:37 mark.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
The rights to that were sold to an unknown buyer last year, so I wouldn't count on seeing a remake
"Unknown buyer" could actually be anyone though. Could be EA, and they're going to use the IP in a mobile game with IAP. Could be Valve, and they're going to do... something. More likely it's some small/medium studio or publisher that will release on Steam in the future, though. The RoN IP isn't exactly going to set the mainstream gaming world on fire, but it is something that's got an amazing reputation (like Homeworld), and will sell bucketloads if a HD version is done right.
I've got my fingers crossed.

So tons of useless "social" features, a 720p compressed video to showcase "updated" graphics, no mention of UI or control improvements...I don't think day/night cycle and cloud shadows are worth the modern upgrade. Native widescreen is just a convenience feature, one for those who can't be arsed to look up how to do it. Granted it should be in by default, but still, not enough.
Looks very good enough for me.
Will probably buy it, as i love those RTS with basebuilding
I also can't remember nearly nothing from the games campaign anymore. So it will be a new game for me
Price will probably around the same as AoE 2 HD. I hope for less, but in the end it may even cost more than 20€
