Everytime I boot (7x74bit), windows detects my usb g11 logitech keyboard. No message pops out. It does that usb sound, when You connect usb device.
Every time i turn on pc.
The point is, Keyboard don't always load. Mouse never fails (g400) but if keyboards fail to load (no usb sound on boot), I have to restart pc.

I think it's logitech gaming software to blame.. I need it installed for my g400 dpi levels to work properly

bump. I am still having this problem. keyboard don't boot with windows from time to time. Now more often than ever. Almost every time after windows start I am finding out that keyboard is not working. Although backlight is on, so usb is powering. usb legacy support IS turned on, I've tried different usb ports.

Ony thing that helps is reconnecting it or restarting pc until it works. Is that keyboard dying or mobo ? if keyboard. Recommend some good kb. not to expensive if possible. With backlight and mechanical ! And WITH volume knob or wheel or something to control voulme.

Is HID on at startup in services?
If not then set it to auto, that might fix the problem.

For some reason HID didn't start on my end and my keyboards media buttons and sound control wouldn't work. Turns out HID didn't start up with windows and therefor wasn't detecting the media buttons on my keyboard. The keyboard was completely functional except for those things. Only way to "fix it" was to unplug and plug in the keyboard again because the service was set to manual.
Not sure if you have the same problem but you could try.

Just open up services.msc and then find Human Interface Device Service and set it to automatic (if it's already on auto then that's probably not the problem, also don't set it to delayed start).

Guys I still have problems with that fucking g11...

Any recommendation on some rather cheap keyboard ?
It dont have to be mechanical.. I dont use keyboard all that much really. Sometimes only write some paper for university or use wsad keys Laughing

All I MUST have in a keyboard is a control know, wheel to adjust volume, becasue I often play on headphones and I control my volume via this. ohhh and I prefer big traditional keys. flat is no no. ideas ?

Have you tested with another keyboard so that you're sure it's the keyboard and not something else?

No other usb device does that (not start with windows every time)
No mouse, no wifi dongle and no 360 gamepad dongle. And g11 does that on every usb port

Yeah, but sometimes it still might be something software related.

And I don't quite understand this.
Did you enable automatic start or not?

Amywho, at what 's your budget for a new keyboard?
Corsair K50 looks nice, it doesn't have mechanical switches tho but it's quite similar to logitechs G series setups.

I did enabled it... and even reinstalled windows since then. nothing helps

k50 is crazily expensive for a keyboard. Its over 300pln here, which almost nobody would pay for a keyboard

1) Try a different USB port
2) Get some proper drivers or nag on the official support

tried all of the usb ports over last months. Maybe I could just not use logitech gaming software drivers but my g400 is better with it

Go to the device manager and try this :
http://superuser.com/questions/24609/how-do-you-reset-windows-keyboard-drivers-to-their-original-defaults

so windows doesn't use a logitech driver for the keyboard.

This typically happens as a result of a shoddy cable/connector.

I'm still running my original g15 a decade later with little issue. If I bend the cable weird it will fuckup though.

@VGAdeadcafe I am going to try your tip by just reinstalling windows and NOT installing any logitech stuff.

@Mchart - Cable or not but the keyboard backlight it always working allright but the keyboard is 80% of a time, not responding after booting to windows, without me replugging a cable.

its an old keyboard I got from my fried. It have all the right to finally give up

i had this issue with sb dongle. Every time i restart pc, it would end up trying to reinstall and usually fail to do so. It would still have the ghost of the previous one in device manager and tries to create a #2 version. It almost drove me crazy (and uninstall the failed and ghost entries and scan new hardware would still end up as failed installed). So every time i rebooted, i had to uninstall those 2 entries and unplug and replug the damn thing.

Never figured out what to do about it.

Just ended up by buying a wifi extender and plugging into it with cable lol. It's a lot better than a simple dongle anyways Smile

But sadly, not of any help to you i guess. Just saying this happens with other usb devices as well and it's a bitch.

it's close enough. In both cases you have to replug the device for it to work properly.

Don't nitpick Smile And i'm sure whatever the culprit, it's the same thing in both cases.

The connection can be good enough to allow power, but the data is getting fucked.
