This nearly sounds to good to be true, unlimited, decentralized data storage for free, like the bitcoin network, its stability and potential is directly proportional to the amount of people who adhere to it.
If this ever gains traction, it will be the downfall of most cloud services.

i like what it's saying, but the video does a poor job explaining, and google gives links straight to github, or then to more hyped up "this is the end of the internet" articles with nothing in between

What they're saying is that the all data is saved not on cloud servers but on the computers of its users, when you upload one file into the cloud, that file is encrypted scrambled and saved into the drives of hundreds of users.
When you join the system, you agree to relinquish a percentage of your own hard drive to be dedicated to the backup of network resources.
