indeed, so many devs that just ignore all bullshit and don't give any service.. He could had done the same and still made the cash..

Theres a strong debate on whenever he could have gotten sued or not and i saw many theories saying that since he didnt "steal them" as he made the sprites himself, its just copying or "inspired" he was safe, since the gameplay etc was different.
But indeed, maybe people did get familiarized with the game because of the marioesque style art. Hmmm

Rumors are that it was a copyright claim from Nintendo. Would you take down a shitty game that grants you 50K $ a day? I wouldn't even if it meant being disturbed by journos.
