"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

All we need now is Blutrol for iOS7

Today I didn't even need to use my AK. I gotta say it was a good day. (c) - Ice Cube

the touch controls

That's what you need Blutrol and any portable BT controller for. Like this one:

You know (and I'm sure a lot of you do) I bitch and moan a lot, but I've been giving more and more things a try lately; which portable BT controller would you recommend? I'll give it a shot.

That one is easy Smile SteelSeries Stratus: http://steelseries.com/products/controllers/steelseries-stratus-wireless-gaming-controller

I currently use Steelseries Free (same shit but previous gen, no direct iOS7 support) with Game Controller 2 Touch on Android and waiting for Blutrol iOS7 any day now. I'll change it to Stratus as soon as it becomes available.

Logitech Powershell is good if you have an Iphone AND you don't mind to talk over a PSP-looking thing in public Smile

And Impulse because it's sooo cheap Very Happy

Thanks, captain, but I don't need that huge beast of a PS3/PS4 controller with me, I want to use PORTABLE ones, and that's what the discussion was about.

I'm with Waargh, I really miss blutrol for iOS 7. Controllers For All is great for my ps3 controller but it only works in games that have MFI support. blutrol is awesome and works for everything Sad

No idea, just that there's been no update Sad

Scratch that...

"IOS 7 support coming in February"

So still a week or so to go maybe? Very Happy

How do you use any of these controllers for a phone? Is there a portable one that you can clip the phone onto for iOS7?

The legitimate MFI controllers are HORRIBLY overpriced at $99 (though I think one dropped to $75) but the PS3 controller used with Controllers For All has a clip on attachment for mobiles Smile If you absolutely must get an MFI controller;

It's been there since January or even longer, so doesn't really mean anything

I keep saying 'portable' because I assumed there was something that worked maybe like how a PSPGo folds out, did you link something like that or did I miss it?

The Powershell looks okay but where are you supposed to put such a long looking thing? The video in Sabin's link doesn't show it folding up or anything

Oh.. that kind of form factor? Well I think there's only Moga Pro and iPega:

But both aren't iOS7 ready. And if you look at CES2014 in terms of controllers you'll see that this kind of form factor is abandoned. Everyone goes for the Powershell or Moga Ace type. Or something like the awesome Steelseries Stratus that sabin and I mentioned.

Well the size of it is no big deal anyway, its not like you need to fix it with screws or anything so just quickly pop-in when you need to play. I guess you can even pop it out quickly enough to answer a call.

The Ace is the better buy compared to the PowerShell, due to the better dpad and the inclusion of a second analogue stick, which will be great for games that have movement *and* camera controls in games like GTA and Dead Space. It's just a shame that MFI support has to be specifically added to games in order to use controllers, a catch-all app like Blutrol would have been amazing. Luckily pretty much all emulators have Bluetooth support for ps3/wii controllers, so expensive MFi pads aren't needed there, and here is a continually updated list of games that support them;

http://kotaku.com/creator-of-iphone-game-boy-emulator-says-nintendo-made-1576283813

Funny how Nintendo have never filed a DMCA complaint about any of the hundred previous Nintendo emulators for any of the dozen other Nintendo consoles, or that Sega has never DMCA'd any of the hundred Sega emulators. In fact, the only manufacturer to ever *try* and shut something down like this, was Sony.. back in the PS1 days with Bleem! and VGA. They failed both times as the courts ruled against them.

Yeah... so "funny" that I'm calling shenanigans right now.
