my MX518 is still going strong after 7 years or so now with my brother, using the G400 myself atm and very very happy with it. I dont get those who sometimes spend double the amount of money on worse "gaming mouses".

Yup! The G400 is the direct successor for the MX518, so it'll be my next one |
I mailed Logitech before about how i loved my mouse but my glidepads where gone so they sent me a couple in advance Love logitech support.
Afer a while even the inside of the mouse where the left click should be was so worn out it wouldnt click properly anymore so i had to melt a plastic pen on top of the inside button to game on
Empty again

Love my MX518, the Logitech logo has almost completely faded away but it still works as new. It must be around 8 years old now, the 2nd oldest piece of computer hardware in the house.
1st place goes to my Creative DTT3500, 13 years old!

I find 4000-6000 best for me.
Just tried 1200 and I have to move the mouse a good few inches just to get from one side of the screen to the other.

I agree, never understood the DPI battle, I got a steel series sensi..it goes to some ridiculous DPI but never use it above like 1000.
Turn the DPI down, turn sensitivity up in windows. and it works just as well. I can move all the way across my 3 screens on one mousepad slide, but still can move small enough to do a single pixel of the cursor.
Why would I need sensitivity that reads smaller that a single pixel worth of visual representation? I wouldn't be able to see the changes unless everything shifted a whole pixel anyway...

G500.
I miss my old mouse. It was a very low in height Logitech mouse which was a bit curled and had 2 optical sensors under. Anyone know the name?
Edit: Found it! Logitech MouseMan Dual Optical Wired Mouse is the best i've ever used.

I replaced mine with a G9x but I'm using my MX518 with my Amiga 1200/Amiga 3000 using a Micromys v4 adapter.
