He's on a roll, which is awesome. Very Happy
It's a great moment of his life, you can see it from the interviews and all the humour that he pours into every video. He's "free" from serious matters and can finally enjoy his favourite passion again just like the old times. I love this xD

Hmmm, am I the only one who saw him as a great action hero but a sub-par actor?
I always saw him more of a businessman than an actor (The Last Action hero for example was supposed to be his last movie and that was like 10 movies ago).

The Last Action Hero was supposed to be his last? Laughing WAT Laughing What ass you pull this bullshit from? Laughing The Last Action Hero is a flick making fun of flicks. A "meta" flick.

And yes, you are the only one.

E-weekly entertainment mentioned it while it had it's premiere back when back.
His acting is crap, he has great stage-presence but he can't really act well (for which action flicks are great because quite rarely is the focus on acting in them).
Angry arny is the same character as serious arny.
Take Ricky Gervais for example, he's a brilliant writer but all his roles are basically played out the same way.
Or take Kevin Smith, he can write some funny/good dialogue but he can't make cinematic films.

Here's a quote from IMDB
Quote:
"Arnold Schwarzenegger considered Last Action Hero (1993) his first real failure after an unbroken string of successes. He also considered it the beginning of the end of his film career."

So I remembered it wrong, my bad.

I wouldn't call him a good actor either, he's doing a fine job, but he is unique. Some people just have something different. Dry humour, screen presence, that awesome accent. I can't think of a single accomplished actor who could've done better in Arnie's bigger movies. Maybe he was the perfect fit for that time, a time in which being ridiculous and over the top was nicely done (instead of the over the top ridiculous teenage bullshit of this era).

The only one I can think, that has a similar appeal and authenticity at everything they do, is Dwayne Johnson. While not really able to rival Arnold, I think he is the closest to approach this appeal of not a good actor, but a perfect for the job actor.

And a new Conan movie in the works, directed by Paul Verhoeven (Robocop, Starship Troopers, Total Recall) ... bound to be epic!

Agree on both counts, I'm actually liking what I see in Dwayne lately. It's like he's trying to shake off the wrestling stuff and get into action films. Not a "great actor" in the traditional sense, but a good actor for the roles he's given. Same as Arnie; not a traditionally great actor but perfect for his films, to a degree that you couldn't/wouldn't choose anyone else for those parts. I especially enjoyed Last Action Hero despite it being considered a failure Very Happy

Arnold was the only reason why I was interested in this one Rage Laughing
I'll watch it anyway because Bruce is cool too (still better than the 99% of today's action gayroes), but it's not quite the same thing... Sad
