Surprise!
http://www.polygon.com/2013/3/6/4072420/the-7th-guest-3-in-development-for-ios-android-pc-and-mac
Quote: | The 7th Guest: 3, an upcoming sequel to Trilobyte's classic adventure-puzzle franchise, is in development for iOS, Android, Mac OS and Windows PCs, studio co-founder Charlie McHenry told Polygon today.
The game will feature the creepy atmosphere and clever puzzles of its predecessors, The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour, all of which will be rendered in real-time 3D. The Stauf mansion which served as the staging grounds for the franchise thus far makes its return in The 7th Guest: 3, now set up as "something of a historical museum" honoring the series' antagonist.
The development team on The 7th Guest: 3 includes "some of the original team members from the 90's," as well as some new hires brought on to aid in puzzle design, McHenry explained. The team is hoping to finish the title in 12 to 18 months, and is "discussing collaborations with some funding partners" to aid in development. He added that the team is also planning on launching a Kickstarter campaign next month, which may or may not go through depending on their success in finding funders through other channels. |

HAHA.
Awesome news indeed. I loved those games (7th Guest, Phantasmagoria, etc.) back when I was younger. Probably had something to do with the fact that I wasn't supposed to be on the computer, let alone playing games like that...
Hobo Zombie: TRAAAAAAAIIIINNNNNNSSSSSS
Woman Zombie: COMPLAAAAAAAIIIIIIINNNNNSSSSS
Englishmen Zombie: REFRAAAAAAAAAIIIIIINNNNNSSSSS
Thanks for the idea Lutz!

That's awesome news!
I used to play 7th guest on a 'console' called the cd-i or something.
11th hour was even better in my opinion.
I also recommend Ripper if you wanna try an old adventure.

Rippers fantastic, but it can still be nightmarishly difficult at times, also its follow up by Take 2's Black Dahlia (same style, this time with Dennis Hopper)
I hope this is good, but I doubt it with only one half of the original trilobyte involved.
If you can be arsed to fight with the wayback machine Gamespot did a superb article on them - http://web.archive.org/web/20090615155824/http://www.gamespot.com/features/btg-tri/index.html
Oh and although it was / is unofficial I have been waiting for this too for a long time

dont dash all my hopes and dreams | its theirs third attempt of making part 3 ... first they failed after the AWFUL ending of part 2 , then they remade all theirs games for IPAD to have money for new one ... but still nope , and now this
guess they seen CYAN kickstarter to make a Myst like game , so now they jumped on the hype train ... to beg for money to a Fan sponsored Beta [thats was kickstarter is ] taht they can push to publishers
