Of those two products you linked to I would recommend the former, the CPU is strong and can be overclocked further if needed, newer z87 motherboard as well.
(Both are quad core as well so there's nothing problematic there.)

I'm with JB on this, the combo seems pricey though I haven't really shopped around, but I agree with the recommendation of the first option.

Don't bother with Newegg. They've turned into an overpriced shit store. And if you get something DOA they're going to charge you to ship it back and in some cases, they've become notorious for charging Restocking fees even on things deemed DOA.
Check out Amazon, they've become newegg's biggest rival in the last year or two.
My opinion. Stay away from Asus unless you plan on doing some serious overclocking. Their boards over the last 5 years have gradually increased in the amount of DOAs they've been sending out. God forbid you have to deal with their warranty department. I know a few guys who in the last few months had to deal with them and it's all been over 3 months and they still dont' ahve a working board. One of them even got a board back and the idiots MELTED his DIMM slots with a soldering iron. Other one is on his 4th RMA board and still has been boardless.
Check out Gigabyte. I've been using them for about 3 years now and about 10 builds and not a single one has came dead or with any issues and all of them are still running strong. The one board I did fry which was my fault, Gigabyte fixed it for free even though it was a year out of warranty.

And then here I am, offering the exact opposite: not a single dead ASUS board in 15 years (and I think I've used ASUS for at least half the PCs I've built). I've had one DOA MSI board (my own) 3 years ago, that was replaced within 10 days - replacement's still doing fine after 3 years (P55-GD65). With motherboards, YMMV applies very much. Every series has to be re-evaluated from every brand, you can't just shove the entire brand on a "good" or "bad" pile based on anything.
As for your upgrades and bundles: those seem overpriced, but they're i7's so that's to be expected. The 4770K is the one you'd want; stay away from any Intel Extreme CPUs. They're not worth it. I still have an older one (Pentium EE 955) and cooling that fucker is just annoying as hell. In this case the 4820 consumes 50% more power for 0 results in games. And that's not gonna change.

Same here, I got either asus or asrock (same company really) in all 4 PC's in my house and not any problems.
I automatically go for asrock now when upgrading someone, or helping a friend build a PC.
I can think of maybe 7-8 PC's with them in it (mine and others I've built for people) and all are rock solid some even have had 2-3 upgrades of MB over the years all asus/asrock.
Guess it all comes down to personal experience.
And for CPU i agree get the i5. i7 is overkill for not much gain gaming wise.
