There is much progress, they just havnt gotten real roms to work yet, but they have successfully emulated graphics and touchscreen, and homebrew games work fine.

Also one of the coders working on these emulators said to expect a fully working one before 2006.

We cant get the real ROMs to work yet because of the fact that the entire ROM, except the header, is encrypted with a 128bit code which changes every second.

Yeah, Nintendo did a really good job with it though the guys over at Linuxds.org have made "passme" a loader for the GBA port on the ds thereby enabling a 2nd application running like linux.

man if roms are made avail. im def. goin to go out and invest my money in it. sure there might be a pc emulator but it's pointless because the touchscreen makes quite a few of the games.

Thats completely different though, what it literally is, is like a swap disk for PS2. You stick the passme in the DS port, then your GBA flash cart with whatever DS code you want on it, then you are able to run DS code on the DS. For DS code to be run off of the GBA port you have to basically tell the DS through the DS slot to read off of the GBA cart.

So? If it works I don’t mind 5 seconds of inconvenience for all the games I can get my hands onto Smile

Touche,
But if you use the GBA port to run linux and plug metroid up then don't you avoid the protection?

Any news about work being done on dumping PSP games? As of what I have read, the PSP wil happily at least run small codes like the leaked PSP updater.

The GBA uses the ARM 7 for its CPU, the DS uses the ARM 7 and ARM 9, so basically it is so much like the GBA that the best approach as of now is just to treat it as the GBA but with more processing power.
