How do you play DVD9 games on the PS2 when you already have a release like Metal_Gear_Solid_2_Substance_USA_PS2DVD9-MorningWood? Do you simply have to burn it on a DVD9+R and put in the PS2? Or do you have to copy the game to the PS2 HD and play it with HDLoader/HDAdvance? Or do neither/both methods work?

Can anyone PLEASE tell me how to do this step by step?

Also, can my PS2 v3 with an original MESSIAH modchip actually play DVD9+Rs? Or do I have to replace the modchip to make that work?

Thanks in advance Very Happy

But how about a release like God_of_War_USA_PS2DVD9-USA? I heard God of War was not compatible with HDLoader...

Also, How do you put in in the PS2 HD when the PS2 is connected through a router? Can anyone explain that to me step by step?

And can I use HDAdvance 2.1 as well?

Do you need to flatten a release like Metal_Gear_Solid_2_Substance_USA_PS2DVD9-MorningWood when you want to play it with HDLoader? Or is that unneccesary?

There's a guide on getting DVD9 games to work on HDLoader, but for OTP games such as GT4 it won't work. http://exploitstation.com/articles/dvd9single.php

Also, God of War isn't compatible with HDLoader/HDAdvance in neither DVD5 or DVD9.

Here's a step by step guide on how to attach your HD to the network adapter -- http://www.ps2nfo.com/hddfaq.html

Yea, I already know that... that's what I mean with "flattening", but my question is if you need to flatten a release like Metal_Gear_Solid_2_Substance_USA_PS2DVD9-MorningWood to make it work on HDLoader? Or is that already done?

New TOXiC OS release coming soon, updates listed! Posted By: Administrator On Today 09:06 AM
We are only hours away from the next BIG TOXiC OS v0.3 release (on IRC EFnet #PS2Ownz), but until that time we have received confirmation ahead of the updated features it will contain, many of which are currently unavailable from any other mod-chip beyond the DMS4 Pro product range! Without further ado, here they are:

* It is now possible to launch your PS2/PSX games and DVD movies off disc
directly from within ToxicOS, bringing ToxicOS one step closer to being a
full OS replacement for the standard PS2 browser.
* DVD-9 games such as Gran Turismo 4 are now playable from the HDD.
* 48-bit LBA support added, while keeping support for 28-bit applications
on the same HDD (such as the Sony browser upgrade).
* Many compatibility fixes for playing games from the HDD have been included.
* Support has been added for DVD+R dual layer media, making DMS4 the worlds
first modchip to support dual layer backups.
* Support for the V12 IDE HDD hack for those daring enough to attempt it
* Configuration screen added to ToxicOS where both modchip and OS settings
can be manipulated. This has made the standard Toxic config menu obsolete.
* Games installed via ToxicOS now show an icon in the updated PS2 browser.
* Fixed Devolution mode with unlicensed memory cards (MM16 etc).
* Many other miscellaneous changes and fixes.
