That's basically the typical wi-fi speed here, and often you even have to pay for something like this. ...when you're lucky enough to find a hotel that actually has wi-fi, that is.

Apart from a boutique hotel in Spain (which had coverage 50-100m outside the hotel even) all hotels I've been to had shitty internet. A four star hotel in Turkey had a tiny fucking Sitecom router, for the ENTIRE hotel.
Getting decent coverage should be mandatory in every average to good hotel imo.

It's not even expensive or difficult at all. Jesus, a cheap switch and an access point for each floor and you're done.

Yep, when I was in San Francisco, I bought a 4G sim with 1 month unlimited data plan. It was faster than the wifi in the hotel by orders of magnitude.
