Quote: | "The size of our market has gone from 250 million people who call themselves gamers to 1.2 billion people. Digital is the driver of that growth." |
Quote: | "There's a big dog in front of us," he said, referring to social gaming leader Zynga. "But we aren't far behind, and we're confident that we can catch up. What we can bring to the market in terms of blue chip IP is phenomenal." |
Quote: | Moore also talked about how EA games, especially EA Sports games, make use of social networks and multiple devices to create a persistent experience with the brand. He pointed out that engagement with the company's biggest brand, FIFA, is up 66 percent year-on-year as the brand has been launched on social platforms and new social features have been added to traditional console versions of the game.
|
Quote: | Moore revealed a plan for EA Sports that included persistent profiles across all EA Sports games regardless of platform (ahem, that means you too, Facebook). This isn't far from what EA is doing right now with its EA Accounts working between mobile, Facebook and console games for exclusive items and other unlockables. It's unknown when exactly we'll see EA take the first step in this direction, but it also doesn't have much time before Zynga topples even Activision Blizzard. In short, expect it soon. |
"Yes, there is a nervousness about change. People want to know how they can keep getting $60 for games while social and online games are free or when iPad games are a fraction of the cost. But change is good. Change brings more consumers into gaming. Consumers are driving the changes and, in the end, they always win."

so there is no logical situation where I could say, QQ about facebook..without needing a sexual orientation change?
or is it that doing so causes me to change the side of the fence I play for?
what is it recently with all the new people that join trying to be all cock strong and such?

It's absolutely shameful how facebook games are less powerful and involved than old BBS door games. Why aren't people rewriting those games? I'd love to see Tradewars or Legend of the Red Dragon on that platform.

Zynga news: http://www.scribbal.com/2011/09/zynga-quarterly-profits-drop-by-91-loses-3m-average-daily-users/
inb4 "bahahaha, they are about to fold"
nope.avi in fact they explain the revenue went up - and it's more than double compared to 2010's revenue! What happened and the profits dropped is that "the company made several acquisitions in those 3 months and around 600 staff were added to the payroll during the quarter. This contributed to an increase in administrative expenses from $27.1 million to $54.2 million."
They also believe "the valuation of the company has risen to $14.05 billion" compared to the $10 billion they were worth, in early 2011.

Most gamers refer to themselves as consumers now. They think that entitles them to something.
In reality they have been majorly brianwashed |

While I won't cheer about people losing their jobs, I will cheer about anything that brings about the downfall of Zynga. Absolutely shameless rip-off artists milking theirs cow dry until their teets shrivel up and fall off.

Not sure where to put this...
http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2013-08-26-free-to-play-coming-to-every-major-ea-franchise-moore
Quote: | "We don't ship a game at EA that is offline," Moore said. "It just doesn't happen. And gamers either want to be connected so their stats and achievements reflect who they are, or you want the full multiplayer experience on top of that. We don't deliver offline experiences anymore." |
Quote: | When asked if the company would be supporting new hardware like the Nvidia Shield or Ouya, Moore took a step back to provide a peek at the company's priorities. The top priority for EA right now is the console market with the ramp up to next-gen debuts from Sony and Microsoft, Moore said. Right below that is the mobile space with iOS and Android development, then free-to-play PC titles. |
