Have anybody played this game? I had Bards.Tale.REPACK.PROPER.COMPLETE.DVD5.XboX-WpR and on mine i dident had sound so i stopped play it, did anybody else experienced this problem? or did anybody play it throug, if so was it worth ur time?

Two different DVD5 copies screw up somewhere through the game. I would go with the DVD9 if you can. I can't. I have the DVD9-5 convertor which rips out alot of speech & makes the game rather unplayable as it waits around to play it before continuing and you can't skip it either. Get some dual layer media/hard disk space if you want to play this game or just dont bother.

Just wanted to know, does the xbox support DVD-R DL or DVD+R DL? Does it even support DL media?

I had the dvd-5 version, and i had a converter named Bards.Tale.USA.1.DVD.TOOL.XBOX-DNL

Should i use this converter or should i not, didnt quite understand what u were saying because im not all into Dual layer media/hard disk space n stuff Razz

The converter is for when you've downloaded the full DVD9 version of it. If you've got the 2 Disc DVD5 release just play that as its got all the audio. The one disk DVD5 is no good as far i'm concerned. Rysith has a point. I guess i'll find out next week when i get my verbatim +R DL media! Its taken everything i've given it so far though. Unless someone here knows already?

I have the 2 disc DVD5 version. It plays fine until you reach the end of the first town... When you leave, you go to a large world map which lets you walk to a new town and encounter random monsters (showed as moving icons) on the way. As soon as you enter a new town or encounter some monsters on this map, the loading screen comes up and it freezes. Tried swapping, rebooting from disc 2 and swapping, etc and nothing works... So I'd appreciate a working release, even if it needs to be a 2 disc DVD5 one... maybe the PAL one works?

yeah its about the only xbox game not done properly from dvd9 to dvd5, all the so called fixes to convert the dvd9 to dvd5 work but you encounter a freeze after leaving 1st town as said above, - and no group has fixed it properly yet and probably never will

Well i got my dual layer media today. Burnt it with Alcy just fine, but my xbox with samsung drive does not recognise the disk. Tried again with Nero with the same unfortunate result. Oh well i guess i'll wait for it to go budget price or something, not interested in the hassle of upgrading the drive. Hell for about 18 months i had a 130GB model in there, but it developed a terrible whine that i just couldnt stand....
