I had a little discussion with a mate about how many is needed for a larger mmorpg game (say about 200000+ players). With how many i mean total employees (support people, GMs, technicans, bosses, server maintenance etc).
So anyone that know how many is needed to keep a mmorpg going, for say example EQ1, EQ2 or WoW or another big mmorpg?

id say making an MMORPG requires a smallish team (about 20 members) then the maintenance etc. wont be many. once the bulk is out the team can move on.

More than that. First you need a team that continues to work on the game. Regular patches, content updates, all of that. Then you need a staff of gamemasters or however you call them who provide support to the players (number depends on the number of players of course). And in addition to that, you need a few tech guys who monitor the servers.
