Anyone played this game? If so, is it any good? I have finished both xillia and vesperia and i'm considering playing this as well.

Tales of Graces F was the first Tales game I completed (only dabbled in the japanese version of Vesperia before) and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

It seems there are people who consider it to be the worst of the tales series for some reason but I liked it Smile
I'd take Graces f over Final Fantasy 13/13-2 or Star Ocean 4 any day.

its one of the cheesiest tales games ever, alot of cringe-worthy moments, but - it has easily the best and most tactical combat system of any tales game.

Damn, that's what i hate about jap games, the cheese. Vesperia was amazing, but still had a few moments of silly dialogue, but overall outstanding. Loved the main character and that he wasn't an overly do-gooder. Xillia did have a terrible amount of cheese and was often cringe worthy, but enjoyable nonetheless. If this is worse than Xillia i better just skip it Razz

Any recommendations for games with the quality of Ni No Kuni and Vesperia?

yea it really is far worse than xillia in the cheese department, i really felt uneasy playing it and was embarrassed to have the game running when friends came over. vesperia is easily the best tales game.

if you have a wii (or even if you dont, just use dolphin on pc) you should really play
xenoblade chronicles.
it is by far the best jrpg of this generation by a large margin, hell its one of the best jrpgs of all time. an absolutely beautiful and massive game with a great story and an even more amazing world. after finishing it i couldnt even look at any other jrpg for almost a year.

Xenoblade was my first jrpg and it was good for a while, but then i got that ridiculous companion Laughing and that was that.

Maybe i should give it another chance.

if you want a serious jrpg with less cheese etc., try lost odyssey on 360, its also very well written for a jrpg.

Have actually played that also for quite a bit. Probably not close to finished though. I loved reading those stories i found around in the game. Got to a cave after some road and a blizzard something. It's long ago Razz

maybe you could try resonance of fate, its very unique, complex and addictive.

or, valkyria chronicles on ps3, although its more of a strategy game.
